Best build for Stunt Helmet

Hey all,

I am 3d printing a stunt helmet.

I want it to be as acuurate as possible, possibly 501st approved,

I have several models i have.

each one is a tiny bit different, and some i had to modify to be as close to correct specs as possible.

The openings at the bottom, the eye/nose shape, the top dome, all have subtle differences.

I was wondering is i posted some screenshots of the models, if someone with experience could tell me which one would be as accurate as possible?

I know i have to add screw, screens, lens, etc. i just wanted the opinion as to the best/closest model I should work with.

There are a total of 3 models.

Due tothe size limitation, I put all 3 models in different positions on 1 word doc.

6 pictures of each.

Using images may be a little easier than the document attachment as they are only showing quite small for me. Use a free online image host, upload your images then copy the links back to the forum post.

I don't think I've seen any 3D file for helmet that has been just right and don't think one has been approved. That being said it's your GML that would approve/deny your application so perhaps involve him/her in to the conversation.

To be honest none look close to a stunt helmet, your designs actually look more like the Hasbro Black Series Toy helmet (not approvable) which has the right and left side mirrored, the movie helmet molds were hand sculpted, the left and right are very different in shape and assymetrical.

Excellent to know.

Thank you much.

I didnt design these, but 2 were purchased as "movie accurate" models.

The RS helmets are rather expensive, and just out of touch for price right now.

Do you know of any movie accurate helmets that would be a 3d pritable file?

I would have assumed the helmet would have to be symetrical to be considered.

These are screenshots of one of the purchased files that I did not list.

They were done by a tallented designer that made the entire armor.

Is this more like what you are talking about.

You can see it is not symetrical at all.

as a matter of fact, they are.

he has a V2 of the helmet that was symetrical, and then this is the V3.

I did buy his armor and Helmet.

When i saw the helmet was asymetrical, I thought it may have not been ok, so one of the ones above is his V2.

So the V3 (the ones i just posted) is the one?

And yes, he is very tallented.

At the end of the day it will be up to your GML (garrison membership liaison) as they are the ones looking after costume approval.

I would suggest comparing the files with Star Wars Helmets some great references there
