First time modding - Ideas?

Recommended Posts

Good night fellow troopers!

I was recently given a set of Stormtrooper armor - pretty much ANH Stunt, but the chest plate isn't accurate to the movie (it's a reinforced version). I have pretty much the whole set, excluding the helmet and the thermal detonator. I'd like to discuss and recieve ideas of what I could do with it - what kinds of mods, what kinds of costumes I could do following 501st costumes and ideas that go out of it - taking in mind that it's a project i'm doing with my dad, so anything goes, really. It's just an opportunity i'm taking to get to know more how armor works and to get my father int othe armor business (perhaps even get him to be one of us...heh.)

Thanks in advance!

The trim would suggest ROTJ, but generally the shapes look FX like. Then there’s all the rivets everywhere and weathering.

This might clear but you’ve got your work cut out to get it there. I strongly doubt you could clear this in our garrison for example even with heavy modification.

Agreed.  The amount of work that would have to be done to make this acceptable would be immense.  With the molding on the edges, this would not be acceptable for ANH, but if you remove all the rivets, fill the holes with ABS paste, replace the hand guards and do a few other mods you may be able to submit it for ROTJ.

Here are the links to the ROTJ and ANH CRLs so that you can better see the differences:
