An Apprentice to Costuming! (seeking help!)

Hello fisd,

I have just signed up after reading for over a year and loving starwars and everything else prop , costuming related for my whole life,

I'm looking to get a ANH Luke in stormtrooper disguise costume together

Starting with a helmet Kit, which could be displayed until its possible to fund a complete outfit,

Any advice or pointers would be great

I'm 5,7 In converse so would height be an issue if i did get a suit together?

I don't strictly want to be 100% accurate, Just a big fan who wants a quality item and a good project

Also on a side note , Would a helmet be a too large of a difficulty and big step for a beginner?

Yeah, PM this guy. ^^ He has an amazing eye (and brain) for details.

 

Doing a LukeTrooper is not overambitious at all! It means you'll want to pay attention to the specific details of Luke's armour, but that's handy- some of the best closeup shots of armour ARE of Luke and Han in disguise, so the details are all there to see.

 

As for your height, keep in mind we have troops ranging in height from hardly over 5 foot all the way to to THAT GUY MAKES VADER LOOK BAD.

 

If I recall correctly, the troops in the film ranged from 5'7" to 5'10" (Mark Hamill is 5'6"). At 5'7", you'd do fine as a Luke.

Thanks for the warm welcome and I hope I will one day accomplish the feat of having my own stormtrooper armour!
