Femtrooper Julie[501st] Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 I am going for the coveted EFTB (Expert Femtrooper Badge!) and decided to upgrade my E-11. I was always pretty proud of my Hasbros doopydoo kit, we have some troopers here with just plain Hasbro! But the difference in this kit is amazing! I did not realize how different they looked until I sat them side by side! Nothing real fancy with my build, it is not the most super accurate, but I like it! I hollowed out the front sight alot. Also hallowed out the rear catch. My rear bolt is prob too short now that I look at them. It is a piece of wooden dowl. I soaked a popsicle stick in water and clamped it around the dowel to get the right shape on the rifling detail. The springs are compression springs from Home depot, two with e-6000 joining them. I thought I was getting an aluminum bar for the scope rail, but I guess it is steel. It took a bit of cutting to get through! LOL! Since I had not seen a side-by-side, I'll post mine. Now I need one of those fancy blaster stands! Quote
Femtrooper Julie[501st] Posted October 17, 2011 Author Report Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) Oh yes, I did the cut off he screws, riviet pin for the front sight, and the rear bolt really moves Not bad for a femtrooper weapon! Edited October 17, 2011 by Femtrooper Julie Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 great job! only minor crtiques. rear spring is too many loops and should be black. front inner barrel should continue all the way to the tip. scope is mounted just about 1/2" from it's proper location just a tad forward. all in all these observations don't detract from the awesomeness that is compared to the hasbro! again... SWEET job on the blaster there julie! Quote
Femtrooper Julie[501st] Posted October 17, 2011 Author Report Posted October 17, 2011 It was the only compression spring I could find local that was close in diameter. Will keep looking though! Can not move my scope now, I used the template posted here, I think it was 8.3com from the rear sight. I can add an inner barrel on, do you just run a dowel inside from the barrel opening? Thanks for the feedback! Quote
MartinSivertsen[501st] Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 Good job! Looks a LOT better than the hasbro for sure. And cool that you took the time to do all the small modifications Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) it looks great! a dowel would work fine! Edited October 17, 2011 by TK Bondservnt 2392 Quote
Femtrooper Julie[501st] Posted October 17, 2011 Author Report Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) will see what I can find, thanks for the tip! I did not realize how dusty it was until I saw the pics LOL! I used steel wool to scuff up the paint. Will clean it up some! Edited October 17, 2011 by Femtrooper Julie Quote
DudeSidious Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 With the sping you should be able to stretch it out a bit. Quote
SW1 Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 Nice build there Julie knocks spots of the hasbro Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 Nice upgrade!!!! Well built! Quote
ZeroRoom[TK] Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 Great work! The Popsicle stick rifling groove rails was a great idea - you should post up a tute on that, it looks very effective Quote
Femtrooper Julie[501st] Posted October 17, 2011 Author Report Posted October 17, 2011 Doh! I never thought about stretching the spring out! Sometimes the simplest solutions....Not sure if I'll take the rear cap off and try again or not. It is E-6000'd on pretty good! I did not think to take a pic of my rear bolt build, but I think I'll be helping a trooper build one like it soon! Quote
