tk0000[501st] Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 Was the ANH hero armor painted white or just a white type of plastic? I know the helmets were white plastic. Thanks. Quote
Sonnenschein Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 The suits were white abs, but there is evidence that some were painted during a restauration process. Quote
john danter Posted June 6, 2011 Report Posted June 6, 2011 I think AA only used HDPE for it's springiness involved in the undercuts he needed TK achieve The body doesn't have anywhere near that level do ABS was used I maybe wrong, however and sadly everything AA says is questions and poopood beyond belief His own fault, but it can't ALL be lies, surely Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 (edited) when you look at the shepperton design studios photo it looks like everything is white abs. Andy didn't lie about anything, he's just being taken out of context quite a bit. the main point AA tries to make is that he was part of the process used to make forming bucks from the originals that Brian and liz created. AA re-sculpted the shapes to allow for vac forming. so he modified the shapes for the process. I think it's really sad that people don't understand more clearly AA's part in the team that was assembled for the making of the film's costumes. I think it's great that brian has actually named the original source for the sculpted body cast. Edited June 7, 2011 by TK Bondservnt 2392 Quote

TK bondservnt[501st] Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 anyways, I think that the ABS suits didn't need painting. TM can probably add to this... Quote
troopermaster Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 I can't say if they were painted or not. I used to believe they were, but I don't have any solid proof. Too bad SiMan painted his original suit. Here are a few pics from the LFL archives that look to me to show paint rubbed off. Quote
