tkrestonva[TK] Posted May 28, 2011 Report Posted May 28, 2011 What kind of kit do you have? Also, pictures are usually helpful for these types of things. Quote

BananoPower22[TK] Posted May 29, 2011 Report Posted May 29, 2011 Maybe you're using the wrong straps for the butt/kidney. I'm also using velcro and it holds just fine. And yes, a picture will make our lives easier Quote
TrooperTim Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Is the velcro industrial strength sticky, 2 inches wide, a few inches long, and attached vertically? It should stay put if this is the case. If not, I would suggest adding more velcro or change to a snap system. Quote
cameron Posted June 14, 2011 Author Report Posted June 14, 2011 its the industrial strength. and it is vertically. im in the process of moving. but when i get settled, i'll take the necessary pics. it just pops open. how do i make it where i can sit down in my armor. when i walk, it feels a little stiff also. how do i do the snap system. thats my biggest thing right now. making snaps. thats all i lack in getting it approved. tkrestonva[TK] Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 (edited) I wouldn't worry about sitting so much - other than Han, you didn't see any seated stormtroopers in any of the movies. Whenever I'm in armor, I always assume I'll be on my feet the entire time. If you must sit, however, perhaps you could use strapping that is of greater elasticity. Another alternative is either undo the butt-to-crotch connection and flip up the buttplate, or take it off altogether. sith_241 Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 If you have to sit, you can pop off your butt plate. backstage type sitting, but you can do it without fully suiting down. Quote

I can sit in my FX without removing anything. I have a cut butt and a cut cod, but they're both attached firmly with snaps. Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 I used velcro too as you describe and had this issue at times. The solution (thanks TK4205!) was to take a length of neoprene and have it run the entire length, velcro'd at each end. As for sitting - I used to sit just fine in my old FX. Trust me if you're tired enough you'll find a way On the HIPS armor I've not been bold enough, though given how inexpensive a new one is I really should give it a shot. Sometimes the trick if you're sitting on a bus or deeper chair is to unsnap the thighs and let them rotate out a bit. Quote
