john danter
Cheers Paul Feel free sir. I don't mind tidying this up if you want to do a tutorial from it. Not much to it really but all the rivets are in the right place etc
john danter
This is my interpreation of the accurate rivets etc on the side of the suits Inside it's made like this chicago screw through hole Elastic and washer placed over screw shank Closed with the scrw slot head Popper side is done like this - instead of using the normal popper back plate parts, just use the pretty pattern Jersey back plate This way it looks accurate the outside world (if ever noticed ) but I can pull the torso apart with the poppers. john danter
Also..... Hmm...? I've done my torso now and am in 2 minds to cut the lower chest lip off or not. I'm short yes, but my torso is quite long for my body I have 2 chest/back pieces TM from ages ago and the BFA one with the whole suit Here's a pic of this as it fits me Should I cut the lip off or not? Or cut the BFA and leave the TM as it is?
Rich330[TK]
John, If you really want to replicate the full Luke look, my opinion is that you have to trim both the chest and the back to achieve this. If, however, you just want to get the chest to fit as well as it possibly can (like a normal TK), this is what I advise ... Position and connect the bottom of the chest to the abdomen correctly. By correctly, I mean nice and high, with very little overlap. Look how much gap there is between the buttons and the chest: Try on the suit. Make sure it's at the right height at the crotch. If it chokes you at the neck (it probably will), trim plastic from the neck and from the shoulder tabs. Work from the bottom up and connect the suit at the shoulders last of all. It worked for me, look: I just think that for a proper TK look a low chest looks really sloppy and a centimetre or so cut from the neck opening and tabs is hardly noticeable. And an overlapping back and kidney is an even bigger crime in my eyes. The strapping doesn't have to be the same system as the original but the positioning and the length of the elastic has to be the same to keep the parts in line and prevent overlap. This kind of thing: And, please, no free-hanging chest and back with the abdomen on a pair of braces!
john danter
Ah don't worry Rick, it is connected like yours mate Except I didn't use the brackets I've just glued the elastic to the inside of the chest plate and poppered it to my ab plate Nice tips. I'll give it a go later I have 2 chest plates A TM and a BFA so I'll cut the BFA
Rich330[TK]
Ah don't worry Rick, it is connected like yours mate Except I didn't use the brackets I've just glued the elastic to the inside of the chest plate and poppered it to my ab plate For the chest to sit that low, you must have a bit more length on the straps. If it's more comfortable like that, it looks fine. I just like it nice and snug with hardly overlap. It's something you can easily adjust later too if you feel like it (I did ). For the overall TK look I also think the back is more important. Look how crap I look here ... ... and how incredibly sexy I look here! john danter
Agreed! I'm looking for the wolf whilste emocicon but I can't find it Just cut both parts. Re gluing the strapping, will post a pic later

Hengster taken off. My own scope rail Brass painted nuts glued underneath rail Finished all the traps on my GF All hand painted. I've found a tool called a draftsman bow pen and also a great paint pen called a Uni POSCA pen Great for the trap edges etc. I just used Electrical insulation tape and a ruler on the rear traps what do you think? Amy
Lol I need to finish this off I'd love a set of DDDs in there and yes it would be very hard! Please send them in the post It is not getting them in the armor. I had to get AM and I am only 5'4" and about 150lbs so there has been a lot of trimming. I did trim down my chest and back plates in length, good to know I am more "Luke" that way. Do you have any photos, tips or instructions for the grappling hook box? I keep trying to put mine together but can't find enough photos to help me out. for the DDDs http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=103803969635634&set=a.103769609639070.8212.100000180956322&type=1&theater
