  1. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250828748793&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:AU:1123 Wow. Is this an Altmanns? The bucket looks like one of his and it's not pretty.
  2. Does anyone have any recommendations and circuit diagrams on components to purchase to make something that can make multiple sounds? Those systems listed are pretty awesome but I was wondering if there's something more affordable. And I may be crazy for using the word "affordable" when it comes to SW costuming!

  4. Even in a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, EVERYBODY knows that's just wrong.
  5. Hi Everyone, I don't have any interest in buying this - I already have finished my own. I thought the photos were funny like some monster had sucked all the human out of armour but bloodlessly. http://cgi.ebay.com/ANH-Stormtrooper-armor-501st-Star-Wars-complete-/120708327852?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1ac6e9ac#ht_500wt_1156
  6. Very very impressive. Will your battle damaged one have a bit of reptile skin exposed? (Sort of like how makers are putting bits of exposed zombie in death trooper helmets?) PS The voice-changer is only needed for the mini-series. With a tighter budget on the TV series, the Visitors mysteriously lost their voice warble.
  7. Did you make the grappling hook yourself as well?
  8. I didn't think I needed any and I thought the Tony Barnett web page explained how I did things pretty well. ----------- I was trying to reuse the ABS because I don't have much spare ABS and I couldn't find much plain flat PVC at the hardware store except really long drain pipes. I've been told how to do it and the instructions have worked. If anyone else wants to reuse their ABS pieces: drill into the snap fastener. Use the same size drill bit as the hole in the ABS piece. Drill over where the hole is. I used a hand drill and it took a lot of force. It doesn't drill through but the force dislodges the parts from the plastic. This technique doesn't work with the snap fasteners on the elastic.
  9. I used a plumber's glue: PVC U-Pipe cement. However, taking the snap/ABS pieces was easy. I don't know how to separate the snap from the ABS.
  10. Hi Everyone, I've used that technique (Tony Barnett's snap technique) where you glue a snap fastener (aka press studd) to a piece of ABS plastic then glue the plastic to the armour. Initially I used the snaps that you buy from a local chain hardware store and found they tend to unfasten too easily. So today, I bought some stronger snaps from a tarpolin store. They seem a lot stronger - I put one set together and still haven't pulled them apart and broke a nail trying (and I have short nails because I'm male). I've also removed that plastic bits from my armour using an exacto knife. Now, I have a whole bunch of weaker snaps glued to the ABS plastic pieces. Someone suggested I should be able to remove the snap and attach the stronger ones on now. How do I remove the old ones? Bye Elwyn
  11. Hi,

Can you PM me when you have more grappling hooks made?

    Bye

    Elwyn

  12. If you make grappling hook and box sets again, could you please PM me

  13. Hi, I was painting my ESB EFX helmet's frown grey outside. After a few minutes of being savaged by mosquitos, I put insect repellant on myself. I forgot that some insect repellants react with plastic and was resting my hand on the bucket. Sequently, there is a huge half-hand print on the top of my helmet and some fingerprints that don't seem to come out with just rubbing and dishwashing detergent. How do I fix this? Does the Novus polish fix such things? (What's the exact name of this product?) Bye Elwyn
