Has anyone had any experiences like this?

I've got a helmet on the way here from Italy.

It was shipped on the 22nd of December... so over a month ago... but I've yet to receive it.

When I use the tracking number on the origin's shipping website — — I get a message that says "Out of the Office International home" on 30/12/2010.

So I tried entering the # on the website and get that "We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece."

This answer on Yahoo answers seems to be what's going on... I'm hoping/thinking maybe it's coming by boat!

But I wondered if any of you have had similar issues.

I have had something similar in that respect. I had an overseas courier dispatch something, then the package was put in the hands of FEDEX and then FEDEX put it in the hands of the Postal Service. Lots of times items get held up in Customs, for no apparent reeason. I felt like my package was coming by a mule with two broken legs, but it did get to me.

The Postal Service is one of the worst about their paperwork and updating their online info.

I had similar problems with latex masks in the past. Sometimes stuff would get to me in a week, other times I'd have to wait a month. It CAN get stuck in customs and what with all the fuss with security and whatnot, they do check more packages than they used to.

Also, I've checked tracking numbers and got no information back and then the same day or next day it would arrive and the same useless info would be on the website.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, because I can totaly sympathise and understand the wait for something to arrive with no real help or info from the mail courier/company.

Yeah... I'm thinking it's sitting in some custom officer's "to check" pile and he spends a bit too much time on facebook to get anything done.

I'll post on here when (if?) I get it.

Hoping it's when.

Yes this happens often, once I mailed com covers to my bro Nate who lives just over the hill about 100 miles from me. Took almost three weeks. Sometimes you can only track to the port the international package last checks, after which it is no longer track-able when it's out of the originating country. Sometimes, usually it's in customs.

One of my mates in Denmark had a package from me sit in customs for over a week, the customs officials were searching the internet to verify the actual value of the item and not the value I had placed on the form. :duimomlaag:

My bet is there's a TSA agent somewhere with their hands all over my helmet's hovi mics. blink.gif

I have items from TM that when I go to the Royal Mail site it says that the USPS has attempted to deliver it, but there's been no notice on my door at all and when I go to the post office they have no idea what I'm talking about.

A first as I've gotten other stuff from the UK, but frustrating to say the least.

Whoa... I don't wanna hear that! mellow.gif

So, do you end up getting the items?

My TM armor isn't what I'm talking about here... but I certainly want it to show up safe and sound when it comes. blink.gif
