JimCem99[501st] Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 Just wondering what type of strapping systems/suspenders does everyone get and where do you buy them? What works best? I need to get something soon to finish my armor in time for a couple of Christmas parades on 12/4. Thanks! Quote
Quebectrooper Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 I use regular suspenders found at any clothing store. Quote
Sonnenschein Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) Try this for garters :---------- Edited January 16, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
pandatrooper[TK] Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 I think both the AM kits come with elastic / velcro for use as suspenders. These will work until you need to upgrade. Quote
SolderMaster Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) I used 2 inch elastic belting from JoAnn Fabrics...part number 28605-1 . I glued velcro on one end of the straps and installed a single snap which connects to the ab. I put two strips of velcro on the kidney plate which allows me to adjust the straps quite nicely... Ā -------- Ā In this shot you can see the suspender snap in the lower right corner. ------- Ā Hope that helps! Edited January 16, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
blueboxer[501st] Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 I picked up some black suspenders in the men's clothing section at Walmart for $6... worked great! Quote
TKittell[501st] Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 I searched a long time for suspenders. Kohls had them. Quote
JimCem99[501st] Posted December 12, 2010 Author Report Posted December 12, 2010 Kohl's by me didn't have any. I got them at Walmart's; thanks again for the suggestions. Quote
Scootch[TK] Posted December 16, 2010 Report Posted December 16, 2010 I use the suspenders which are made for nail bags. I paint the leather black. Bolt the back to my kidney plate under my belt and glue two plastic tabs inside my ab plate to clamp the fronts to. Quote
