ajax407[TK]
My ATA kit came a few days ago and I've just stopped giggling like a school girl long enough to announce it here. heeheehee I'll be going for the classic ANH stunt on this bad boy... ultimate goal of EIB of course. I was thinking of doing the rare MM-TK, but I probably shouldn't. I was pleasantly surprised to find I may not have to extend the ab/kidney sections, my gut isn't as big as I feared. I may have to shim the thighs and calves though. From the waist down I seem to have a little more girth than most. BTW, the first offering has been made to the armor gods. More progress pics (and questions, I'm sure) to come!
Sonnenschein
Finally you got it! Have fun building it! Karin
bluehickey
Glad you finally got it! Now comes the love/hate part of assembling it all.
ajax407[TK]
I couldn't resist and had to tackle the bucket first. I have a little more trimming/reinforcing to do, but so far I am pretty happy with the results. All comments and constructive criticism are welcome. But please, be gentle... DarkTrooper[TK]
Yes! Another ATA build. Wow you jumped right in there. I was intimidated by the helmet so I did that last. You've done an excellent job so far. I can't wait to see the rest of the build.
BobbyFromBUF
So, I'm guessing that the ATA kit doesn't need to be painted white...? I think I knew that, but just wanted to confirm. Looks great so far. I'm so jealous! I'm starting on my first TK project this weekend - boot mod! Good luck, and please post more pics as you make progress! pandatrooper[TK]
ATA is a matte finish. So you can sand / polish it if you want to make it shiny, or sand it and paint it if you want it glossy.
ajax407[TK]
Thanks for the kind words. ATA kits do need to be painted btw. There are def. no shortcuts allowed with this kit if you want it right. :-) Progress has been slowish... I gotta get my butt in gear. Only 52 days until C5... that's not as long as it sounds!
