  1. Thank you for all the support. I'm getting close to the finish. Just a small update on where I am at. I Patched the joining area of the two stock pieces and then sanded smooth. I then primed and painted Received my T-tracks from Smitty Cut notches out of track and used lighter to soften, bend and form ends Clamped finished tracks to blaster Drilled holes on both sides and installed plastic screw holders( for drywall ) Then, drilled holes in stock handle for screws to attach to blaster Applied silver paint to bolt section Still have to put the guts back in and solder before I can finish the outside. Getting the tracks today really got me back on schedule, thanks again Smitty!
  2. Nice build thread, keep up the good work.
  3. I have been using bondo( body filler) on my blaster mod. It seems to hold to the plastic. I rough up the area first with sandpaper and then clean before applying filler. I can't help with the glue, my guess would be a strong epoxy. Christaan
  4. I received my Caboots last week. I don't think the smell is too bad. Kinda reminds me of stepping into an auto parts store. They came shipped in the actual shoebox and with the lid on you can't smell them til you remove it. Just thought I would chime in!
  5. The air quality is terrible out my way. Ash all over the place and blazing heat. I have not been able to get a whole lot done , but here is an update! I found that lamp chain works as a pretty good D-Ring Applied bondo to the stock extention Then sanded bondo Then I drilled holes into both stock pieces to allow a screw for support I then used a stick to dry test the fit With the stick inside held stock to blaster to check fit I purchased some 5-minute epoxy for a fast, strong bond. Until now, I was using E-6000 From this view you can see that I counter sunk the hole for the screw Primed right side w/ greeblies primed left side w/ greeblies Still waiting on T-Track, going to bondo stock and add pins to arms!
  6. I just got my ATA armor and could really use a set right now. Is a run possible? Christaan
  7. I just received my caboots this weekend. I wear a size 10.5 and that's what size I purchased. A size 10 would have been too small. They fit good, just enough room to put in arch supports for trooping comfort. Hope this helps! Christaan
  8. Mike, You may of lost the thrill of trooping, but you sure bring a lot to the table for everyone! I am getting ready to start on my bucket and armor. I found your videos to be very informative. Thanks for sharing them. Christaan
  9. Here is the next round of progress, the fires and heat in SoCal have been slowing me down! Time to remove the front sight Carefully using cut-off wheel and exacto to realease part Small parts to prep for paint-front piece of main sight, back piece of main sight, front sight, barrel tip, trigger Next, application of sight knob on right side Home made greeblies, from oven bake clay- once finetuned I will make molds Marking the gap between front folding stock piece and arm Adding extention to folding stock using internal plastic from blaster Profile of counter clip Barrel tip, here's were I need help! Is this the correct position of tip? completed so far Now I need to paint a little inside and put the guts in and close her up so i can finish the outside!
  10. Thanks for the support guys! I really appreciate it. Good luck on your upcoming builds, as well. I am lucky to have some help close by. I have signed up with the SoCal garrison and they have a mentor program to help upcoming troopers. There are 3 guys within minutes of me that can assist with my build and provide pointers. I think it is so great that so many troopers out there are willing to help and offer advice. Once I get started I will do a build thread.
  11. I just received my ATA bucket and armor yesterday. When I got home last night I was so excited, then I noticed a very small box. My ESB hand plates had arrived, as well. I would like to say a great big thank you to Terrell and Paul(Troopermaster) for their assistance in making one of my childhood dreams a reality. ESB elite here i come!!! I am most grateful
  12. Thank you for your kind words. This is something I have been putting off for a long time. You guys just gave me a boost to get back out there and keep going! BTW- I have a BA in studio art, so I have slight advantage More progress coming soon!
  13. Paul, Thank you so much! I received them yesterday.Ironically, my ATA armor and bucket came the same day. ESB elite here I come!!!
  14. I have been working on my first hasbro mod. I am going ESB with my armor so I need a blaster to fit the theme. I hope my pics work below. I started with the removal of the site pieces and barrell tip to remove the guts of the blaster. I then marked and cut-out the counterbox with a cut-off wheel and cutter tip. I then filled in the site with part of the front site and a piece of PVC Next, was to carefully modify the plastic that I cut away from counter box. After that I filled all the seems with bondo and sanded flush Removed part of lower left T-track and drilled holes Carefully removed C from first hole on right and then drilled a new hole and re-attached C in opposite direction A liittle more work and this is where I am at now! Let me know what you guys thing so far
