  1. Rounded frown it is then! @Blörre-Bolzer: Yup, when I get all intellectual and do some helmet building, I wear my nerdy glasses. Also, calling Conny a "slug-like creature" is not very nice, Mr. Lindsay. I am sure she enjoyed being chained to me as much as I did being chained to her. But can we PLEASE leave this dark basement now and/or get some food&water...? I get cold in this metal bikini, paradise island or not...
  2. Thanks mate, I just built it and wear it ocassionally. I checked my pics if I have a close up of a bracket but I can't really find one just now. Here's the old thread of the initial offer, but as you can read there, you're probably not gonna get brackets from that source any time soon: - @Joe: I'm gonna build a new one real soon if all works out.
  3. It's just steel wire bent into bracket shape. Fastened with 2 machine screws per bracket. Pete/Stuka offered these a while back and they go along perfect with Mark's/FBJ's strapping set. It's their exact offerings you see in the pics of my 1mm TM up there.
  4. That's a fine stormtrooper right there. Congrats on a very clean TM build!
  5. Shoulder strapping looks good! Nice eye for detail, impressive. And yes, those dudes' lenses look flat indeed. Not the first time I heard of flat lenses for ROTJ, but that is the best pic I've seen yet. Details were all over the place for ROTJ, huh...?
  6. Mr. natural smile 2011. Okay, let's do biceps and helmet together. Tell me when, amigo!
  7. Mate...you're already almost finished! Need to come over very soon to celebrate with another Dorada. Since I am now in your ciudad, that should not be a problem. Looking very very awesome, your CfO ROTJ. Who would've thunk ROTJ would grow on me like this... now I want one too.
  8. Exactly, but you guys in this thread were saying "frown" a lot when you meant "brow". Whatever - nice lid there.
  9. When you guys say "frown" you mean "brow", right?
  10. Thanks, Paul! Not as beautiful as wearing it is, though.
  11. I can't prove with any reference pics that they used white gaffers tape for that, but since they used it for all kinds of other solutions and repairs, I figured it would be fair game.
  12. @Chris: it is, ghetto style. Keeps the shoulders/bicep pieces where they need to be and is somehow accurate. Gaffers tape rules!
  13. A mix between french and midnight blue seems the best option, I guess.
  14. These are the most helpful I guess. Shows how a 1mm TM looks assembled. The helmet...well, looks like a helmet.
  15. Looks like you need to wait a little more then. If he won't response to you directly, how then should others know more? And now let's get back to topic, shall we?
  16. I could show you pics of my completed components as well as inside views of the ANH accurate torso strapping. No pics made while I built it, though. I did not have the patience to pull out the cam for that...
  17. PM him and ask for yourself?
  18. No black stripes on the ears? Other than it is a little too chipped for my personal ESB taste, it turned out pretty good.
  19. Yeah, for ANH, the grey frown colour does not leave the teeth area. Another case of "check reference first, then paint your stuff". But don't let this stop you in any way. I'm sure you'll find a lot of buddies here, we stormtrooper guys are generally a very welcoming crowd - don't let the way of constructive criticism fool you into thinking that people here are harsh or unfriendly! We all strive for more accuracy here is all.
  20. Much closer to the pic with Han holding the gun, yeah.
  21. That is waaaay to far back on that rail.
  22. I was, like I always like to do, referring to using prop reference and original material. But yeah, Hengstlers were all over the place I guess.
  23. I can only say: I had fat armor (3mm), that was not my cup of tea... then I had thin 1,5mm HIPS that broke and cracked and did all kinds of other bad things, and now I have 1mm ABS - and that is so 100% awesome bliss for me that I will (from now on) never stop to make advertisements for it in every possible way I can. But seriously, nothing beats the look and flex of the movie suits IMHO. And that can only really be pulled off by a 1mm ABS suit with original strapping. I'm sure Paul himself would be first in line to agree. And it does feel like armor - well, maybe not like medieval metal knight armor does, but cool space armor alright. But sorry, I totally digress. Back to your awesome build, Karin!
  24. Absolutely - the 1mm is way sturdier under hardcore trooping than most would believe. I too was surprised: I even climbed a jungle gym in Legoland early this month with a group of hyperactive kids and a fellow trooper in my 1mm TM and no damage was done. But if the 2mm is more for you, so be it. (The last words are to be read as Palpatine would say them!)
