  1. For a great option for boots, try Dan at "[email protected]" <[email protected]>. Very good quality for the price...if he has your size. Nice progress so far. Can't wait to see the weathering I've been hearing about.
  2. Thanks! I thought it looked familiar. I spent much time gazing at this bucket on starwarshelmets when I was working on my AP. I did not know about it providing ears for the helmet molds though. Interesting.
  3. What does "SFS" stand for? Also, do we know where this helmet is now? Thanks.
  4. Personally, I like the look of the stunt better. I even like the 'bump'. I kind of find it endearing for some reason....perhaps because it was one of the first odd stormie details I came to know about that the average person may not notice. Anyway, it's stunt for me
  5. Yes, AWESOME pic. Thank you very much for sharing! It looks like he's got some marks (smudges) on his shoulder, chest and under his frown. I wonder if we can place him on screen. Does anyone know if this guy really was on location as the caption states? Also, I can't quite tell how his tear is painted.
  6. Are 'PM's the best way to contact a mod or is there a more appropriate way?
  7. Thanks for the replies, BUT just like Steven, I still can not seem to do it. Any other advice?
  8. I wanted to change my topic description in a 'wanted' thread from 'wanted' to 'found' but can't figure out how to edit this portion. Any know how? thanks jt
  9. The Ebay link above is for a guy named Dan and this is where I got my boots. He is a really nice guy and I love the boots I got from him. He asked that I post his email so feel free to email him with inquiries at: [email protected] I believe he just has larger sized boots at the moment (11 - 13?) but you guys can ask. I LOVE the boots, but just be warned that you may get a pair with dirty webbing or slight imperfections. In my opinion though, they are totally worth it regardless - comfy and accurate. ,
  10. Thanks much for sharing that photo. I don't know if I had seen that one before.
  11. I am the same height and have an AP and interestingly enough, someone told me today that my thighs may be too long to fit well trooping-wise on my first official troop. I knew as I was building mine that I was not going to have great mobility in the legs as I was going for movie-accuracy and the armor is going to be restrictive by nature. You may have to find a happy median for what you want. Of course don't trim too much too soon (until you have your boots, etc). It's easier to shorten than lengthen armor!
  12. Ah, I recognize that armor from starwarshelmets.com. Wow! I love when stuff like this comes out.
  13. A most excellent find!! What is the brand name? Also, can someone educate me on who this 'John' is?
  14. My guess is that it will fit just about perfectly as armor can fit. I am 5'9" / 180 lbs. You can see mine in the 'JTKenobi's AP' thread. If I lost 5 lbs off the mid-section I would say it fit me ideally.
  15. BUMP...... Can anyone with AP or TE put in their 2 cents on this? I would love to hear more about what all you guys are using as well. Also, the idea of a bag as 8280 said but I think I would be paranoid that my stuff would get crushed.
  16. TK-2523 requesting access. Thank you, Sir! http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember...cfm?userID=8880 I also see my pics are not up yet Thanks, JT
  17. Ahhhh. Double post!! sorry!
  18. I realize I wasn't quite clear in my post. I meant the 501st-only boards on whitearmor.net. Sorry I've since received a pm on it so I should be able to figure it out. Thanks though Alain! BTW-saw your photos on starwarshelmets.com. Your famous.. ...and looking awesome that AP!!
  19. Hey Guys. Thanks so much for the compliments. So you can't tell that I am sucking in my belly? Great! (I am) Anyway I am off to Taiwan tomorrow to visit my wife's family for Chinese New Year so that should be pretty cool. Yummy food and no work for a week!! If anyone wants to see any specific photos of my set up, I'd be happy to post pics when I get back. Thanks again for all the kind words guys. And BTW - What do I need to do to get access to the 501st boards??
  20. Hi All, I just wanted to say THANKS to everyone here for all the great advice over the past several months. I don't think I could have done this without Dave's videos, Troopermaster's advice, Bigturc's photos, as well as all the other great tips that you all gave me. I think my first 30 posts were just questions. Haha. I hope I can be of help to others down the road! I have some minor things to do like paint the screws securing the ammo pouch by the knee as well as some mods to the bucket and hand-plates, but I am basically ready to troop! So, without further ado, here is my completed armor. I will be taking better photos eventually but this is what we came up with for now.... Thanks again everyone! John!
  21. Hey guys. I need to find something to lug my armor around to events. If I want something big enough for my AP kit (w/helmet), is there a size in 'gallons' or 'square inches' that would be sufficient. I want to find something that will be as snug as possible. jt
  22. Check out this thread: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=2220 I used this method of attachment while rigging up the back/chest, etc. and it worked out GREAT. No need for suspenders and it's very easy to put on and take off. My system is virtually identical to the photo that Troopermaster posted of his. It is a very good method.
  23. Thanks much for the response Luke. My buddy who was going to help me paint them thought the same thing about the texture so I am abandoning this idea. Too bad because I really like the fit and feel of those things. Luckily I came across some black glove liners at Target that are just what I was looking for.
  24. Can someone please respond to this? Just want to make sure my question doesn't get buried. I am potentially going to spray paint these today unless someone has some other advice for me Thank you, John
  25. Does anyone know how best to paint gloves that aren't black. I got a really nice pair but while the palm is black, the top is brown. These things feel like cotton, but are made from bamboo fiber. Would spray paint work?? <_<
