  1. Hey Joe, I would love to see those scans whenever you got a chance . Thanks A
  2. Thanks a lot guys for sharing that info regarding the neck trim. You are probably right Terrell, I remember now that you and Scott took pictures of the real thing not long ago. Nice! Hey Paul thanks for your kind words... you are such a nice guy, always willing to help here to all the forums members. I will PM you later today whenever I finished at work. Good point Firebladejedi, I probably will try that thing you did. Thanks one more time. These are some other pictures I forgot to add last time. Cheers A
  3. Thanks a lot guys for your kind words, I'm glad you like it . It took me some time to get it done with it but I'm very happy with the results, still I will love to get a more accurate neck trim, something closer to the ESB style. I would love to paint next one a TM lid, but I'm afraid I have to sell my T*E HDPE to fund my next project, still thinking about it. Cheers A
  4. This is the latest helmet I painted myself. It took me sometime to finished it but I had a blast painting this lid. This is not an idealized helmet, I tried to reproduce the imperfection of the original ones during the shooting of ESB. I wish the weathering would be more noticeable in the pictures. I used humbrol paints, Evo aerators and Mike's ESB decals. I hope you like it. Cheers A Photoshop preview
  5. please delete!
  6. One of the best out there if not the best Hero trooper I have seen so far . Congrats!! I do have a SDS hero bucket but yours makes the difference. Cheers A

  9. Thanks a lot guys. I'm overwhelmed with your kind words. I never thought this helmet will catch so much attention in this forum since it is the first helmet I have painted so far. Merry Christmas to everyone. A
  10. I am afraid you are right . Matt emailed me and he shared some thoughts :"The test I have read about the ESB helmets is that they stripped the helmets first and then sandblasted them to make the paint stick better. I think they also had someone paint them that really could. I think AA sprayed the helmets and when this was done, it was done in very cold weather and the paint ran, by no fault of his own" It also looks that some helmets were sprayed 2 or 3 times. Any other thoughts? Cheers A
  11. Hi guys, As far as I know and based on my readings and researches the originals ANH stormtrooper helmets(stunt) were sprayed with white automotive paint. But was the same technique applied for the originals ESB helmets? I have been gathering pictures of ESB stormtroopers helmets lately from different forums and websites and I noticed that the white paint looks thicker, I did not see any paint drips... By any chance, could they have been brushed on painted? Thanks a lot in advance. A
  12. Great stuff as usual . Congrats Jez. Cheers A
  13. Sorry I have been out the forum for a while. When did that happened? Cheers A
  14. Sorry guys I have been away for a while. I just moved and I am almost fully installed in my new place. Oh well after a lot of thinking I have to say you guys are right. It is better to get a new lid and mess around with itinsted to go futher away with my actual HDPE. I got already a new one but now I need to find myself some time to make it happened. probably next one will be ESB, I will see. Thanks to all of you for your feedback and your kind words. By the way I am not the maker of this lid, I just got it from TE and painted it myself but I do not cast helmets. Sorry Mark, still you can contact TE. He is around this forum from times to times. Cheers A
  15. After a lot of thinking I am considering the posibility of addding some chips to the helmet. I took recently a 360 photoshoot to study where I would apply those changes. Still not sure about it, what do you think? In the meantime this is the file I am using for that project. Cheers A
  16. Thanks guys for the explanations. Now it makes more sense to me. Paul, thanks for your kind words again, I am glad you liked it. Still I have been thinking if I should give it a more "used" look. Cheers A
  17. Ok guys, I have a SFS(HDPE) and does not look like that at all. So did Matt restore the molds after he did the cast from the original one? Cheers A
  18. It is looking very good. Congrats I am looking forward to see it done once you get Mike's decals. Cheers A
  19. Kevin, Thanks a lot for the kind words. That makes me a happy man and encourages me to do it even better for my next bucket I got one more picture for all of you. I changed the welder visor for a more acurate one(green acetate)... Cheers A
  20. I second that. Very nice indeed,... congrats. A
  21. It is looking very nice but I agree with Marcus on this. Maybe is better if you put the helmet away for a week and let the white paint to cure. Cheers A
  22. Hey Kev, I got done with my helmet a while a go , you can see some pictures here if you like http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=1669 Hey Peter, What a nice lid you have there I love the used look you apply to it. I went in complete different direction, trying to emulate the "shiny troopers" from the Death Star. Yes you are right Peter, time is your friend, I took my time with mine I think it paid off. Cheers A
  23. Hey Mark, I went through the same thing almost a year ago when I painted my HDPE bucket, I remmember I had to remove the white paint and start again from scratch. My only advise is to prepare the surface before apply the paint, just try to scratch slightly the helmet with a scotch brite pad. After that, I applied a very thin coat of paint(krylon fusion). Then I sprayed the helmet with multiples coats (three coats) every 40 seconds more or less. Then I put the helmet away for a week. It is very important to put away the helmet for a week once you apply the white colour. This will help to create a stronger bond between the helmet and the paint. I hope this help , other than that I really like the way the helmet is looking so far. Cheers A
  24. Hey guys , those helmets are looking very nice I'm looking forward to see the final product Cheers A
  25. Thanks a lot for your kind words , I am glad you liked it and signed up after you saw it, I put a lot of time on my lid and I am very happy with the final results. Regarding your questions...yes you can use this bucket to troop, it may chip off in time like the originals ones but it is perfectly suitable for trooping. The originals color helmets were a bit off from the armors, they were close but not identical, actually you can see that in some captures from the movies...I believe the only ones that matched in color the armor were the hero helmets since they were made of ABS plastic like the armors, the stunts were made of HDPE so they had to be spray painted in white to mach the white ABS color. I hope this answer your questions. Cheers A
