  1. Starting to trim/test fit the thighs. What do I do about this? The bottom edge doesn't line up. I've seen someone else with the same ATA kit trim the back like this I guess this is my route. Has anyone ever filled up gaps with bondo or other type of filler material?
  2. If you JUST need the battery pack, they sell those at Radio Shack. I have on that holds 4 AA batteries. Radio Shack has them for all sorts of battery types.
  3. Forget the gun, I'd like to pose with you! @ femtrooper_julie. haha
  4. At work! While everyone else is at lunch. I'll do some trimming at my desk. Might as well be productive during my breaks. During the trimming stage, half the time its done by utility knife/hobby blade; the rest is with a dremel. I like the dremel because I feel like I have more control. I'm too nervous with the blade, I don't want to apply too much pressure and have the blade cut where I don't want it too. That and the idea of slicing my hands and ending up having to get stiches. I worked at Home Depot long enough and cut myself quite a few times while there.
  5. "but his would take a lot of work that I'm not sure I could do." IMHO, part of being on this forum and suiting up with the armor is the pride that you have that YOU put it together. It can be tough, trust me I know, but that's what this forum is for. There is a TON of info here to help you put together a set of armor or help you in your decision. I just got a set of ATA's armor and a lot of blood & sweat will go into this. BUT it'll all be worth it. Good luck in finding a ready-made, wear-out-of-the box set of armor. My 2 cents: don't get rubies. If you want the respect of people who know good armor, please don't get it. It it NOT accurate. If you want a "Stormtrooper costume" go right ahead. BUT if you aspire to join the ranks of the 501st, forget about it.
  6. Great job with the armor. I'm gonna go for EIB too on my first TK armor. That's how WE represent Stockton, hahaha! Contact Scott with the Central California Garrison. He'll help you with getting setup with the 501st! We could use you in the Christmas parade coming next month in Modesto.
  7. I LIKE the last pic. Well, done. Good job. You look great with the full TD accessories.
  8. They had them at Macy's. They had the Star Wars hoodies too. They probably have em on their website also. I bought two other ones from the Marc ecko website. They were on clearance too.
  9. picked this up tonight at the mall before another nightly trimming session. There were a couple cool other designs but I had to get this one.
  10. I got one of those too recently. What's your take on the area of the helmet where the mic tips go? Rather thin don't you think. How did you/are you going to reinforce that area? I know I read a post some where on this forum about using cloth saturated with krazy glue or using epoxy putty. I have leftover putty from my Fett helmet which I think I'll use.
  11. How do these work? I mean, is there a closure on the back of the neck or is his style like a neck piece you simply put your neck through like the top half of a turtle neck. They do look awesome!
  12. I was SO surprised when it showed up. I had no idea when it was gonna get here. Paid on Sunday, arrived the following Saturday. Man, that butt-piece looks huge. I've already trimmed the chest piece And back bicep piece can someone else confirm for me that this is the left one (the one with the somewhat straight inner arm cut). I think I read that the right one has the V-shape on the inside of the arm. I'll post more pics as I move along. I got the whole score and snapping technique down good. I was using a rotary tool to sand/trim but flying pieces of hot plastic wasnt too pleasant to my skin
  13. I'd like to see a whole troop of them. I see they have Boba Fett & a Darth Maul available too now.
  14. lots of shimming
  15. MRCE is harder to find at a good price. Most I've seen are around $150+. I ordered an ATA full set of armor but have seen in person his helmet. The price is WAY affordable. PM him here. I think he's Supertrooper.
  16. My set should be arriving this week! I'll definitely post up my build as well.
  17. Thats the Doopydoos blaster right?
  18. I put the velcro in my helmet to hold items. I got some good feedback to while at Comic Con. It held my keys, wallet as well as battery pack for fans.
  19. Just buy the whole roll, cut the small piece you need and return the rest. Only if you don't have a guilty conscience about such a thing. j/k I ended up buying a whole roll too but I haven't (and probably won't) returned the rest. It's a LOT! I could rescreen half my house. I could send you some if you want. Let me know.
  20. I know there are troopers out here that have used doopydoos Hasbro blaster conversion parts. I checked out their website recently and they offer a DLT now! Has anyone picked up one of these yet? What are your thoughts on it? http://www.doopydoos.com/stormtroopersandt...r-mk2-841-p.asp
  21. Button down shirt and jeans. I usually spend a good amount of time outside. I work for a heavy construction equipment dealership. Then I'm indoors doing the accounting. Sure beats what I used to wear everyday. I used to work for the IRS, professional attire mostly. I lost a lot of friends while working for the IRS but gained them all back when I quit. Haha

    Lunch!

Picked up the 2 western bacon cheeseburgers & a small fry from Carls Jr. They're on sale 2 for $5! I hear Jack in the Box has 2 tacos for free on Tuesdays now. Just bring in a coupon from the internet.
  23. HHHMMMM. Beach or TK helmet? I'll take a helmet over the beach any day. BUT . . . TK at the beach would be even more cooler. Especially in TD gear. Sand appropriate attire.
  24. Yeah, I'm leaning toward getting a MRCE very soon. Hopefully before comic con. I have the FX + I have a slim build. I look too much like a friggin bobblehead IMHO. But Tupperware TK is a legit source. I asked him a couple questions about his armor and he responded quick.
  25. PM Deckard here on the forums.
