  2. Great work Rich. probably going to sound stupid but as i have been out the game for a bit is there a website where one can view the LFL archive photo's.I have a set of TM that has sat in the box from last year so really need to get my finger out and build it (the correct way).
  3. Thanks guys. Really means alot to me getting the positive feedback from you all. I agree the shoulder bells could be turned around abit. That's the advantage of getting your other half who knows nothing about the costumes to take the pics
  4. Hi guys, Ive not been around here for ages, but have sold my last set of EIB approved TK armour and have bought, built, painted and have been cleared by the uk garrison to troop with this set of ATA armour. My last kit was a mix of AP helmet with FX armour but this kit is all ATA (thanks terrel). Helmet and armor has been professionally spray painted gloss white with handpainted decals green welders lenses neck seal, undersuit, holster,CA boots and E-11 is the same kit as i used for my last EIB photo's

  8. Looking good bud,see there is an advantage to being ill the lids the last thing to do on my list ,need to get my finger out and get the armour finished first. A wee question for the expers out there, many of you have painted the helmet white then laquered.I have tested some scrap cut from the top of the chestpiece and just laquered it.I was wondering if the parts really needed to be painted white first or a couple of layers of laquer would suffice.
  9. Hi Darren, Im 5"8 and have in the past used risers to get me up to the 5"10 mark,I had them up to the max height but found it impossible to walk in them as it is like walking in heels and that aint for me. I will only put one of the blocks in next time which wont feel so weird to walk in
  10. the master has taught the apprentice well . excellent work bud ,I may be wrong but personally i would take a teeny weeny bit more off some of the frown holes.
  11. Cheers peeps. between myself and my real life work collegue we decided to get a vacforming machine together. He is building the machine and i am doing the armour sculpts. So these are my first project, they are sculpted out of a special clay that doesnt dry untill cooked. They are made of several layers which have been cooked sanded then the next layer to build the plates up to give it a curve.I could bore you all with the W.I.P photos form the start of the sculpt but i wont. Next step will be making a negative mold then another positive mold from that made of resin. The resin positive moulds are the ones that will be used for the vacforming .
  12. As the title suggests i have been quietly working away on these. To cut a long story short, the handplates are a totally new scuplt made up of many layers to get the desired effect.I have gave them a coat of white primer to show any imperfections and to get a better idea how the finished project would look in gloss white plastic. Any questions comments good or bad welcome
  13. Hi guys and girls, I recently purchased this --------- I belive this is a viper mic.The pin it came with is too small to fit the rom fx so i cut it off, unfortunately when i tried to open up the pin to find out what coloured wires go to where the wires were molded in to the plastic surround so i couldnt tell. I have opened up the push to talk switch where i found 3 wires going to the pin,Silver, green and red wires.I have attached them in various ways to a normal 3.5mm jack plug to fit the female pin for the rom fx but i am not getting anything through the speaker.I have contacted the makers to ask about the colour of the wires to the pin but they havn't been back in contact,i have fitted a new battery as the mic is battery powered but still nothing. Can anyone help
  14. If it helps here are some comparison pics of an AP(left),TE2(middle) and SDS battlespec (right).I own and troop with the AP as i have a very small nogin and synaptyx owns and troops with the SDS battlespec and has recently purchased the TE2 for his next project.

  20. Thats cool, I was thinking the idea could be a little extra thing to run alongside everything that is on the forum at the moment, the tutorials, advice offered up by other users and the W.I.P reports ,as part of an ever continuing improvement of the forum and to give the question asker more of a choice,ie post publicly or PM a member of the team (if they mabye felt a bit embarrassed about asking the question). I like many others come here as i find this forum a much friendlier place than my local garrison forum and love all the advice and W.I.P tutorials that get posted. The structure of the armorer team can be set up any way you want it to be so it doesnt have to be the case of who you know or who you could bribe to help you out.I know that no 2 suits are assembled and built the same so it would be up to the individual asker if he/she decides to contact an armorer to follow the info or try somewhere else.Mabye having 2 or 3 armores per subject so different opinions could be given . i hope that is more clearer than my first post
  21. Hi, Our numbers are increasing daily and with new costumes coming to our boards.I was just wondering if there were any plans for an armourer team to help fellow troopers with every aspect of their suits.I know we already have some very good tutorials ,search function and when a member posts up a question there are always at least a dozen other members popping up with suggestions. We have an armourer team within the UKG which works very well and covers all SW ,SW EU and other movie costumes eg.if you want info on a tk you can pm "john smith",if you want info on a bobafett you can pm "betty smith" and if you need any info on electronics you can pm "jane smith" and so on. We only have TK's at the moment but there are around a dozen different manufacturers of that particular suit ,all with their own little quirks so you could have a person or two for each make of suit eg,FX,TM,TE2 . I also believe some people would rather PM one particular person for info regarding a certain suit rather than post up a question for fear it may be a bit of a silly question. This could also free up the boards and stops questions getting posted that have already been asked and answered.
  22. Thats exactly why i decided to do some target practice this weekend after a dig from my sandy brother.
  23. Louis, Here are some pics of mine using the foam mod. Firstly the shoulder bells, glue the foam to the area that sits against the bicep piece, therefore pushing the bell out a bit ----------
