  1. If you want your armor to match the Anovos TFA helmets.... Use Rustoleum x2 Glossy White spay-paint cans. (No clear coat.) A painted sample of the Rustoleum x2 Glossy White spay-paint was sent over so that the helmets would match this perfectly. I know I made the sample. You should also be using the Rustoleum x2 Simi-Gloss Black for the back halves of the two belt boxes. Kevin W. SG2
  2. Looking good so far. you will want the front of the belt to drop down more. it should rest in the flat area between the raised details. You might also want to trim a little bit more (not too much) around the front inner hip area. It will make it a bit more comfortable for walking. I listed my assembly tips on page 14 here... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/15279-jes-gistang-research-thread/page-14 Kevin W.
  3. By no means am I trying to knock you down on your assembly, I know everyone was giving a very short time frame to do it. I commend you for talking the time to take so many good pics. (Should you be 501st approved in it ..Yes). But I feel this should not be the kit/parts used in the CRLs to represent what the kit/parts should look like. Unfortunate too many of your parts are not trimmed correctly. All the edges should have a nice smooth rolled edge. You did not cut or sand enough of the cut edge away causing it to have extra flair on the ends of the return edges. Also it look like the wrist box what not assembled correctly but that could just be the view I see with the pictures. I just wouldn't want others to follow this as the example of how to do it. Kevin W.
  4. Congrats looks good but I think Brian Kim is the first ITT. This should not be approved just yet, your not done. Your pockets are incorrect on your jumpsuit. You are missing the "J" front pockets and the lower thigh pockets need the flaps you also need the outline for the knees. Also the chest pockets should be removed. Kevin W.
  5. Unfortunately I am not at liberty at this time to discuss all the detail. Trust me I know what I had in my hands to work with. People at the booth might not know exactly what I had. There will never be a more accurate kit made available like this. All companies who were involved are licensed and approved by Disney / LFL for manufacturing. (Myself included) Kevin W.
  6. I would not consider the Anovos TFA White Stormtrooper armor to be just a "Fan Sculpt" at all. It is directly derived. Trust me... I know. LOL Kevin W.
  7. It's nice to see that the Comic and GG Statue style are both accepted now. If you have any question please let me know and I will do what I can to help clarify things. Kevin W.
  8. Oh... so many options..... I cant wait to see this in theaters!!!! I almost feel like a new prefix should be made for this new stormtroopers. Or at least be open minded to the idea. Kevin W.
  9. If you are indeed asking about the Fem helmet you can cut 4 on each side total of 8. Also no need to use a rivet like the male TK. I include all the hardware you need. Use the larger short bolt and nut to hold the dome and face plate together in the center hole. The top and bottom intentions are to hold on the ears and the eye lens. Kevin W.
  10. Thanks everyone. I am here and just been very busy and took some time to spend with the family. I made a post on my facebook as heads up on any delays that might occur keeping me from getting back to any emails or pms. This year is going to be a busy year for me so I will do my best to get to any messages as soon as I can. Happy New Year!!! 2015!!! Kevin W.
  11. Thanks Eric. It's great to see this topic moved in the 501st approved section after so long of a thread... years in the making. Kevin W.

  13. Yep here is the official post on ct.net... The Legion has recently revised their stance on realistic versions of animated clones. Below is a statement from the Legion Membership Officer: "Realistic counterparts to animated CW characters are eligible. But... as of right now, they are limited to those who have realistic official references, such as the Sideshow statues." ~ Damian TK-826, LMO With that now in affect. The Gentle Giant Statue of Jes Gistang should have just as much merit as the Comic-Book version(s) of her. I purpose in trying to make everyone happy with this: There should be at least 2 classifications for Jes Gistang, similar to their being an ANH Vader, ESB Vader etc... I say at least 2 there could be 4 because I'm sure soon others will want to make her with a more dirty approach similar to a Sandtrooper and in that case adding clean or dirty after the GG or Comic style should be easy enough. Gentle Giant Statue of Jes Gistang Comic-Book Style of Jes Gistang The only main differences are the Back-plate, Thermal Detonator and the boots... This is how it could read out to explain the differences for both approvals. GG Statue - would be represented how the kits comes with the more Clone stylized back-plate and the details T/D cover and uses the boots worn at SDCC that match the statue other than adding a strip down the from from toes to ankle. Comic Book Style - would be represented with the additional option of the less detailed add-on pack-plate, smooth curved T/D cover and lower heeled / flat heeled type boots. Kevin W.
  14. Hold your thoughts on what is right and wrong for 501st approval... Soooo on the clones side of things... It appears that a realistic sideshow Rex will become 501st approve-able because it's statue is an actual LFL/Disney licensee reference for the realistic version. I maybe jumping the gun here a little bit but this is the direction they are going. And discussion has already taking place with the LMO. That means that the LFL licensed Jes Gistang should fall under the same rules and be approved just as we originally assembled it and debuted it at San Diego Comic-con. We made it look just like the statue. All these other request for it to look like the Comic is completely unnecessary!!!! Kevin W.

  16. Yes I have a small box full of this style back-plate. So ether you can keep the armor the way it currently is with the back-plate that looks like the GG statue. Or if the LMO's say they want the back-plate to look like one of here's from the Comic then this is that option. I know she is seen in the comics with 2 differently drawn back-plates but I am only offering this comic style as an alternate option. With my luck the LMO's will most likely choose a 3rd option, just because it would be the one I did NOT make. They seem to be leaning towards the opposite side of everything I have made costume wise within the last 2 years. I'm kind of getting fed up with it. Kevin W.
  17. These are called "T"-nuts. ACE Hardware has them. --------- Kevin W.
  18. Right now they are making mention about the back plate and the boots. The funny thing is we have asked them what back plate should be the correct one? In the Comic Jes Gistang is drawn with 2 completely different back plates. And the only image of her boots in the comic is a very unclear distant front view of them. And for some reason they can't choose which back plate I should use. But just tell me it's wrong. So I too have told them that I have absolute no faith in their judgments and asked several weeks ago to bring this to a world wide vote. The bottom line here is... IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT THE LMO's THINK!!!!! Approved or not, you will see a ton of these ladies wearing this at Star Wars Celebration 7 and HAVING FUN!!! That is what this hobby should be about. But just to be clear Jes Gistang is 100% an LFL character and she meets all the 501st requirements, I made sure of that before I started sculpting it. I just don't know why the LMO's don't see it. Kevin W.
  19. I can't wait until Celebration 7 and see ALL the lovely ladies wearing their Jes Gistang armor. Trust me there will be a lot of them.... You can't deny the growing Empire. LOL Kevin W.
  20. Just a quick view of what the fem helmet looks like with the fem trooper chest armor...-------
  21. Some size comparison pics of the Fem Trooper helmet next to a regular TK helmet.
  22. I'm finally done.... I am satisfied with the assembly of the Fem Trooper helmet. All parts Vac-formed nicely and fit together well.
  23. Here are some pictures of the first test pull of the Fem Trooper face plate... I put a video up on my Facebook: KW Designs.
  24. The front strap location: The wide of the strap is the distance from the angle ride of the upper corner of the breast to wear the front edge of the strap starts. Just like you have shown but you need to pivot them a tiny bit so the they to not go too far off on the back as you show in your pics. On the backside: you want the outer edge of the straps to stay within the sharp edges that point towards the backplate. Kevin W.
