I am not much of a collector, but I do have a few things. Don't hate me, but Star Trek is my first love ever since I can remember so I have a guest room with all that stuff in it: Then I do have a few Star Wars items outside of some magazines and books. The drone someone was selling locally. It is unopened and I probably will keep it that way. My uncle dropped off the x-wing one day. It was my cousin's. I didn't really know what I was supposed to do with it, but then thought it worked nice in my home office so it found a home there. I have to figure out where I am going to display the ST helmet when that day arrives and the blaster as I don't think I want to just leave those in a box when not in use. Bart

This was coming up on my radar so good timing. I'm picking up something for the repair kit this weekend, but trying to find the right balance between size and space vs. ease to move and transport could be interesting. I have a jeep so space isn't a huge problem unless I find I need to transport more than 2 people with a case also in there, or cases if I find I'm giving a lift to another trooper. Bart

I have boots. Right now feeling a bit PTSD over it and the disco flashbacks. I ordered one size larger as per everything I read and I think I could have just went with my normal size. They are a tad big but my orthotics fit in fine and that was my biggest worry. I don't think some gel inserts will be a bad idea so the extra space will be good. I have a blaster too, but am too afraid to open the box. It's getting too close to really feeling real now. Bart

I thought maybe you had found a premade system available in Canada. Bart

I got a box today to which should be my blaster but I haven't popped it open yet. I don't expect the armor for another couple months. May I ask what you ended up doing for fans? I haven't ordered anything there yet. Bart

Decided to see if I could get this to work before I wanted it to work. This was a couple years ago. A friend at the time had this helmet. I believe he mentioned it wasn't 501st accurate, he just had it on display. From what I know now I know it isn't accurate. So I tried it on. Couldn't hardly get my head in and couldn't see much. It took too many years to get the point I'm at now (patiently waiting on that commissioned build and gathering up all the other bits I'm going to need to do this right). Bart

How to put on a FULL Stormtrooper Costume
BAZINGA replied to CableGuy's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
It seems so crazy, the thought, of putting on a bunch of plastic then the helmet goes on and it just suddenly seems so right. Bart -
As I dig into the information it does seem legit as the contents say "boots" which would be a wild coincidence for a scam. Bart
-
Things are happening. I should have a blaster and the Icomm system by the end of the month and maybe boots. Something "afoot" with the boots as I seem to be getting scam email from a courier that I am to pay them for a shipment, but I have no actual tracking info from Imperial Boots to know if this one is legit or one of the daily attempts I receive to pay someone for something I ordered (or didn't order). Did anyone else get any shipping notifications for boots from the Sept. wave? Bart

Hopefully next year. I can't see anything on this of course. Bart

Ok I will add this to my shopping list. Even my OCD wouldn't allow for machine polishing or4 straight days of hand polishing so I should be ok. My first "official" accessory (the icomm and amp) should arrive this week. There is still a lot to unpack on the list of things to get and even something to transport it all in. Bart

Meguiarās ScratchX 2.0 Cleaner, 207-mL | Canadian Tire so this stuff will be idiot proof for me? I can get it locally. I'm paranoid about putting anything on the armor and having a disaster. Bart
-
I don't know how the AP helmets arrive. I know I will add fans right away, but jitters will keep me from doing anything to change it dramatically for quite a while until I get used to the idea of tinkering with it. I do like the welding green shades that others are screwing in, but until I have it on with my glasses to know for sure I wouldn't touch that either. I'll look for Lysol instead of Clorax wipes just to be on the safe side. Most things that I can't get locally I can find on Amzon.ca. That polish/cleaner is the worst in terms of price, but everything else is straight forward. Bart

I am picking away at this list. About one half I can get locally. I want to be sure, though, on the Clorox wipes. This is for sure? A bleach wipe for the inside of the armor? I thought this would be bad for ABS so want to be 100% sure. Also, Since the helmet will have some foam and some velcro in it to collect sweat, is there a product that is better for that? Bart

Thanks. Yes, I am always into keepsakes such as pins, t-shirts, coin and the trading cards so should I be lucky enough to get accepted in a few months I'd be all over this. Bart

I realize a lot, if not all, I see out there for swag is strictly for 501st members I just have some questions about what is all out there and when the time comes it is something that is readily available or is it stuff that is only ordered in cycles, etc. I've seen videos of coins being passed around. That sort of stuff interests me. There seems to be many types. What is the story on those? I've also heard of trading cards, but I've never actually seen any in person. Are those a thing? Are there items that can be purchased to give away to kids or some such? I like, when at work, kids come in their their parents and we can find something to give them. It always gets a smile and I'd love to do that when I get to a trooping stage. What are you all doing, if anything, to hand out or have for your personal collection? I was talking to someone today and brought up the 501st and found that I was more excited than I was letting myself think I was as I explained all of it to them. They thought the organization sounded awesome and I said, Yeah, it's why I want to be part of it. Sort of picked up my day that had been crappy for most of it. Bart

Imperial Boots - Ordering Experience
BAZINGA replied to Commander Code's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
If it is any consolation I sent a follow up email because I just has the PayPal receipt too and he answered and said if we got the PayPal receipt they have the order. Bart -
Commenting so I can find it later and add this to my things to do while waiting for armor and everything else to arrive. Good thing I love lists since there seems to be a lot of them in this endeavor. Bart

Imperial Boots - Ordering Experience
BAZINGA replied to Commander Code's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I ordered boot this past wave as well and just had an email confirmation from PayPal. They responded to a previous email. I don't feel concerned. Bart -
I mean I just have no idea what to expect. Can I go 2 hours in armor? 5? 6? I'm thinking not just because standing around is hard on my back, but maybe if the fun is rolling on and I lose track it's a day. Bart

So bathroom breaks must be troublesome in that? I don't anticipate much in the way of handlers where I'm going to be. I'm still trying to figure out what I will do if there is anything locally. I am not aware of anyone who would be remotely interested in that job. I guess I am a pocket kind of guy for the bare minimum. "... blast" <--- I'm not sure yet. Certainly many elements entertain my mind and figuring it all out is a bit of an OCD delight. I don't think I will fully grasp it all until I'm in the armor wondering "now what?". I do wish there would be more local opportunities. When I see pictures of troops that have numbers I get jealous. it would be a sweet deal to make this adventure more social for me. Bart

So yours is wired. What did you find to use with the BT Code? Bart -
power source for iComm and bluetooth
BAZINGA replied to cnsf's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
What mic did you use? I'm right in the middle of ordering parts. I just did the icomm and acker order. I've been looking at small BT TX/RX on Amazon. Not sure if I can jus use a regular headset mic or would be better to upgrade it. I like the idea of no wire between the chest and head and if I could just get away with fans and a TX in the helmet that would be nice. Bart -
Got my first real cosplay and just registered here!
BAZINGA replied to ellington73's topic in New Member Introductions
I can not imagine your loss. My condolences to you. I have found people on this forum to be very accepting of everyone whatever bumps and bruises they may have been going through or still are. I hope this adventure works well for you. Bart
