Just to bump this up I noticed the picture you posted up john of joe johnston, well the guy behind him is Ken Ralston so it says in the write up along the side who currently works for sony pictures, the good thing is his appearing at CIV so it maybe the best time to catch up with him and ask about the spacepack

I knew some fellow members pieces would come in handy for something I did this evening, all I would really love to have is a fabricated grappling hook. I know I am missing the drop boxes but this time of night I cannot be bothered to cut up some velcro at this moment in time to put them on

I just noticed on ebay right now some guy has both hero stormtrooper suits and chewie available but I couldnt help but notice in one of the images he had a accurate version of the grappling hook so I dropped him a email this evening asking if he has any information about obtaining one.

I personally think they look better bleached rather than spanking new white.

I bought a couple of those spy ear units and they are pretty cool. I did put them in various positions of my helmet but you can pretty much hear the fans going so I will put one in my chest piece.

Well you see when C4 was announced the hotel location aspect had alot of people across various forums wondering as to how they are going to costume up as they did not particularly want to cart cases around, then all of a sudden nothing else had been said on the issue for months hence why I was wondering if anything had been mentioned on the 501st forums as of yet being so close to the event.

It does not bother me so much as I am in at the holiday inn across the street but I am just wondering if there has been anything posted on the 501st forums in regards to how gencon are tackling the issue of people going in costume with no where to get changed cause I am sure they are not expecting people to get changed in their rooms and board the shuttle service to the convention centre everyday.

Well I suppose cause afterall there will be people who dont have a clue about costuming there aswell.

So do the panelists basically explain and give tips and ideas on the costumes in question and answer any questions asked to them? I am not knocking anyone at all but I am just wondering if the panel actually digs in deep about various ideas on each costume rather than the basics of putting together a TK costume wouldnt it have been better to say pick people from different garrisons?

Well I have this setup and must say its brilliant. I have actually got pieces of abs with snaps on them placed on the inside of my thigh pieces so thats how I have the bottom connected. I do have a piece of velcro for the belt section but I am going to change that to a snap aswell to save hastle of it coming undone.

I am just wondering if you are attending a crowded event (C4) with many people talking how are you supposed to hear the individual especially children if you have fans going aswell.

I have never seen anything get heated over here at all which is brilliant from my point of view but you know how some people are. It will be the same when they have the movie marathon you always end up with someone trying to be smart and make a comment on a scene.

I just hope everyone attending behaves in a decent manner. I know armour builders will not get mentioned but I would not want to see people get heated with some of the things mentioned like what we see everyday on message boards.

Well the thing is I dont have a holster as of yet until I come across somewhere to get one but I just noticed some on ebay here in the uk from a store.

I have a hyperfirm rotj blaster so is it common to have a holster that the blaster will not sit in properly

What I cannot understand about the grappling hook though is there's the visual dictionary variation and the variation used in ANH by luke and is seen when the stormtroopers board the falcon. I was kind of under the assumption that the visual dictionary version was in one of the other films but I cannot seem to find any reference, why is there two versions does anyone know??

I would highly recommend Ian's binders. I have a set on my belt at the moment and even though I will not be using them until C4 I am 100% sure they will give you a even larger celebrity status

Due to the fact I am attending C4 and CE this year I shall see what I come up with in regards to the spacetroopers in ANH.

I have looked around and cannot seem to find any reference how to modify my armour so I can sit down. I have got the back piece cut already which does infact allow me to bend over to pick something up but I want to make further mods to my suit so I can sit down in it along with crouching down.
