Welcome! Whether building or commissioning there’s so many resources here on the forums. Especially considering that maintenance is a thing too. Glad to have you on board. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Welcome. My dad and I had bought rubies costumes hoping to get in originally and heard that they weren’t capable for approval. It took a few years, but eventually we made it in with approved armor. The FISD was such a great help for me when I started. You’ll find a solid group here to help along the journey! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

SublimeBW's Armor Master's (AM) ANH Stunt Kit - Build Thread

Congrats and good work! -
having previously built a Jimmiroquai fotk I second the information here. I wouldn’t sand before base coat paint above 800 grit. Anything higher can lead to runs. Also I’d highly recommend using a gloss polyurethane based clear and protective coat for the shine. another thing I’ve done with wet sanding here and there is use a dab of dish soap alongside the water it helps the sanding process be a little more smooth, but overall just water is plenty fine too.

Impressive work on the helmet especially. That’s got to be a beast to work with.

Not sure if you can, but if screws are the worry maybe a hardware store has new screws you could pick up? -

You can also grab some black abs sheets from amazon that work well. That’s how I did it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Looking great. With your thigh glue areas you mentioned I really don’t see tons that would get in the way of approval. Overall it looks solid. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Biggest thing I found with my cod was just trimming to what looked right initially and then I made some slight adjustments after doing some tests walking in it. But what you have marked looks like a good starting point. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

So far progress looks good for basic approval for sure. Even higher levels looks like you are doing well towards making it easier to achieve those too. Keep up the good work. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

TLJ Style Captain Cardinal Helmet? New Release from Denuo Novo

Clones just need more hobbies. Seems they have too much time to make more CRLs lol Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

Can’t quite tell for sure on the pictures, but like Glen said, the shins may be on backward. There’s a specific curvature to most kits shins. You can see above how the inner shin has more of a dip inward in the curve following the natural calve muscle. The outer shin has more of a natural curve from top to bottom following the natural curvature of your calve/shin as well. Just worth double checking that. You can trim some of the return edge off. I wouldn’t trim all of it. Here’s mine for example prior to glue and sanding: Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

If you are aiming for higher levels, you’ll want to double check measurements as there’s very detailed sizes and distances of measurements for EIB and Centurion. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Either way you can always at this point change to go one way or another. If you cut out 8 and were going for a hero at least you can still go with stunt (this is the most common trooper as is and very recognizable) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yeah…that’s when I gave up painting armor for the mandalorian. I didn’t want to build a full paint studio just for one armor. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Just use some e6000 with clamps. Let it sit with the clamps in place for 48-72 hours before attempting any opening and bending of sorts. the glue will hold it very well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yep so long as people don’t whisper i hear fine too. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Just don’t go beyond the ridge, but yes its ok. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I’ve seen some people who have bought prescription lenses and then they glue them or mount them into the helmet behind the plastic lenses. It’s possible to do, just something worth considering. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Welcome to the FISD. Even if you don’t wear contacts your vision is quite limited in the FOTK armor. TBH I could see shapes well enough that I for a long time just went pretty blind with handlers until I could do contacts. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
