  1. Hiya, The Tapatalk app is a really easy way to upload your forum posts, if you’ve not tried it. Makes uploading images really easy. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hi all, Decided to put together a simple slide show of my build, featuring some of the highlights of the build. Saves trawling through the whole thread for pics. Hope it helps any prospective builders. :-) Best wishes, Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hi everyone, It’s been many years in the making, but I finally own a life size Imperial Stormtrooper!! I’ll keep my story brief, so, in short, my brother and I always gravitated towards the Stormtroopers when playing with our Star Wars toys as children. Around the early 2000s, I spent time looking online for Stormtrooper armour, however the choices were slim at that time. Then, when I stumbled across starwarshelmets.com, I spotted a sign behind a picture of two TKs for “SDS”. Reading further, Shepperton Design Studios was (at that stage) then regarded as holy grail of TK lids - so I bought one in 2005: ANH stunt number 330. My dream of a full suit of armour then remained dormant for many years - 12 to be exact. My SDS lid had become yellow after all those years - my decision to renovate (full respray) lead me to whitearmor.net and, as they say, the rest is history. So, I’m now a cleared Imperial Stormtrooper with the UKG/501st and hoping to achieve EIB and Centurion status with my RWA armour and modified DoopyDoos E-11. Thanks to the excellent community on here, the UKG and the RWA group, I’ve had a wonderful experience armour and blaster building and thoroughly look forward to making my trooping debut for worthy causes. Best wishes, Dan It’s a pleasure to join you all. :-) Best wishes, Dan :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thank you, Randy and Stephen. Proud to be applying for the ranks of EIB, then Centurion. :-)
  5. I snapped mine, too, when I first tried bending my trigger guard. I think gluing would be a risky choice for aluminium. I think there is a method of heating the area to be bent but have never done this myself. Hopefully one of the others may have tried this? :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. You’re sailing through mate. Good progress. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Excellent work, Trooper. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Lol. Just a little tweak if you wanted to make it - you could straighten up the screw on the side of the grip, aka the “free/lock” screw. To my knowledge, when in the ‘lock’ position, the grip assembly is held in place. ‘Free’ would allow the grip assembly to be detached. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. That looks super. You’re a natural at this. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Good work mate. (Lots of forum glitching going on at the minute. Lots of duplicate posts). Keep up the good work. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. Hi team, Noticed a couple of loading issues and my post duplicated a few times in the 501st Status Request thread via Tapatalk. Not sure if it’s an issue local to me or not. Beet wishes, Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. No worries. Whichever route works best for you matey. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Hey buddy, Welcome to the FISD!! :-) I don’t think you’ll have enough excess on the Ali from Tino’s kit. However, it’s easily sourced from a diy shop. 2mm thick I believe. Jesse, (Dracotrooper) kindly provided some handy trigger guard diagrams. I’ll post a pic if I can steal it from my thread. (If not, page two on my FISD thread). And DD vs sterling You’re making solid progress. Looking forward to watching your build. :-) Dan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Hi mate, Much like Paul referred to, I’m also one of those with quite skinny forearms. I had to really work on my forearms (well, specifically the left one) to get it to fit. Here’s a picture of my left forearm as I was constructing it. As the ‘top’ part was gluing (E6000 for 24hrs) you’ll see the huge gap left at the bottom. To get a good bond, I used clamps, tape and 20x10mm magnets. Also in this shot, top right. Once this was securely bonded, I was able to pull the gap together and repeat the process for the ‘bottom’ join. I also used masking tape in addition to the clamps and magnets hold hold the whole thing in the right place/shape whilst gluing. Keep going mate. You’ll get there. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Hi Iain, Just noticed, that’s your UKG link. You need a link to your 501st profile at 501st.com. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. The Blaster Master knocks it out of the park!! Well done Tino. Next up, Centurion. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Lucky you had a spare blaster (or five) to hand... ;-)
  24. Cheers Chris. I’ll keep an eye out for inductions, more just to get it under my (canvas) belt. If not, I’ll just have to strut around the house in kit until March! ;-) lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Hehe. Yes, there are some excellent "imperial" replies in there. I ordered a rubber blaster this week (early birthday present to myself, lol) as a reserve, just in case I do an event where it might find it's way into the hand of mini-troopers, however that was before I read the bit you mentioned. Never mind - a rubber blaster will still be a handy item for certain troops I'd imagine. Or if my Doopy's turns out to be too fragile for trooping. And my kids can hold that one without me having heart palpitations... I'll PM you about the March thing. Don't want to post in on an open platform. Dan :-)
