UPDATE! So the RS hand plates served as a great base to make some latex hand guards. All I really needed to do was build up the some of the soft edges with some bondo and super glue paste hardened with baking soda. After a little spot filling, sanding, and filing I managed to get most of the details sharpened up.

After that I made a Ultrical-30 (mask making plaster) mold and filled with a thick layer of white latex mask paint, and filled the rest of the way with latex. Ultrical is amazing at drawing out moisture from latex, but to speed up the process i tossed the mold into the oven (180 degrees for an hour or so) These were fully cured by the next day.

Think they came out pretty dang good if I do say so myself!

Awesome to see this! Really good job!

Just to add to the other bits raised, I’d just throw in the calves. Personally, I’d try to close those gaps at the top.
Also, not sure if it’s the lighting or if the backs are dented?

The top i can try to close...not sure how much luck I will have possible readjust the elastic to pull it tighter? that might do it.  Is cutting them an option?  That is by far the easiest if not possible to get them closed with the elastic.

It might be the lighting.  I know in that spot I have my middle elastic so not sure if that dented slightly from when I gave it a water bath.  I'll get a better pic of it later tonight and post it up here.

@StrmTRPR85 I would like to apologize. I was just able to take a better, blown up look at your photos and you are correct. you have not got a gap that shows any undersuit! it was the shadow cast from the chest.

No harm done!  Its hard to see things from just pictures unless I gave you just the right angle to see it from.  Darn old jedi and there certain point of view :)

TD should be centered to your back

My wife insists making me do it myself :laugh1:  I really need to get a mirror and do better.

The chest piece does cover the ab but maybe not by much....i would have to get a better pic of it.  Not sure if that is a result of using brackets?

Also probably due to using brackets is the gap between the kidney and back.  I think some abs spacers will tighten these up rather than tearing down and resewing parts.  Plus I need to reinforce that return edge anywho.

Thigh ammo pack is rounded, but i see where the picture is making it look like there is an edge.

also just curious if you have walked around in this armor to get a feel for it, or have trooped in it yet. I feel you may want to take the return off the butt, or at least at the crouch area. you have some pretty sharp looking points that may not be so nice on a troop.

First troop is 7/19!  But I have walked around the house, even up and down stairs and have not had much pinching in the legs and crouch.  More so I had a part on my right arm.  Also noticed that my bicep hooks catch the chest armor occasionally so I am going to shorten them up.

  6. Welcome!  A couple questions on your build, are you aiming for higher level approvals?

what parts are going to need to be larger? forearms, abs, shins etc?

A hot water bath will definitely help with fitting but some things may need to be trimmed larger or even shimmed.

Post up some pictures and lots of detail on what is not fitting and we will get you where you want to be.

I have a WTF kit myself and very pleased with the kit and also the customer service Walt provides.

  7. Drilled a hole in the back of the Hyperfirm E-11 for the D-ring

    x8I96W4ybOonEJTvfypBKT3NyCpGxRgMG07rTIHi

Than inserted one side of the link in and then got the other side in and slide it back

    ThUZ052yQqiuSjDFevGeJCtbuR3BWEYrSu-oxPww

There is a slight bend in the back due to the ring pushing this.  Is that an issue?  I would imagine we would want it as straight as possible.

  8. Went ahead and riveted and E6000 the belt.  I picked up a larger rivet that was 3/16 in long.

Using some scrap ABS that was thin and flexible I cut and rounded the ends.

    ZK7wvUW5ivaiW58rG80iqgFu1zS4RBEbKHQpQcsl

To keep the end of the rivet from scratching the ab part I put some of the soft velcro side over it

    tVp8tqtuI5vsHnOXunGyjbWXSmHL6evtLENruLpm

Put some clamps where I glued and allowed to dry
