  1. I have the version without the hove-mics or amplifier. Only real problem I've had it putting in the helmet so you don't have a lot of feedback. I ended up having to put the speaker just above the visor. It sounds pretty good but I almost wish I would've gotten a different system, and probably will. UKswrath has a good one.
  2. I recently noticed that he'd updated the charging port to a more accurate location, in addition to the electronics. Still very fragile though. Don't want to drop it.
  3. Thank you!! This is a very proud moment for me. UK and Sly, your knowledge and advice is what got me through this without any major problems. I look forward to representing the 501st. I actually get to do my first troop this weekend at the Sound Wave Comics Mini-con in Hanahan, SC. It will be my first time meeting the members of The Carolina Garrison. I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks to everyone!!
  4. I think the only thing that may hold you up for Centurion is, "Only one seam line should be visible on the sides with minimal gap". Other than that, it looks great.
  5. Same drop boxes. Really only had to modify the belt and the helmet. Minor changes. Getting the rivet covers off of the belt was very tedious. Definitely be careful and take your time removing those.

  7. I hear how everyone says, "your never done" with you armor. I completely get it. I'm constantly think about how I can make it better. Am I just "OCD"?
  8. Thank you so much! I'm proud to be a member and look forward to reaching Centurion level. Ukswrath(Tony), your great build thread is what helped me reach this level. You made it easy. I'm looking forward to starting my next build. I may actually get to Troop for the first time next weekend @ Sound Wave Comics Mini-Con. It should be a blast!! Hopefully we'll get to Troop together one day. Thanks again!
  9. Hi everyone! I thought I'd add a little about myself. I'm from Charleston, SC (actually Isle of Palms) I own a Granite & Marble Counter Top company. I've surfed since I was 9 ( I'm turning 48 on July 8th) I play bass in a local band called Mojo McGee. I'm a huge fan of Star Wars and have a pretty significant collection. Mostly 1/6 scale Stormtroopers and Clonetroopers, but also a nice collection of 1:1 props. Naturally, having a full size Stormtrooper was a must for my collection but also being able to bring joy into peoples lives seemed like an awesome thing to do. This is what drove me to join the 501st. I look forward to my first troop and many more after. Thanks!
  10. Is there any way to edit title of this post? I forgot to put ANH Stunt in the title.
  11. Not really sure why photos didn't pop up. I entered them like normal. Only difference was I put them in an album in Photo Bucket before I started this post. Could that be the problem? Does anyone know?

  13. Just want to say it's great to be a part of this group and I look forward to my first troop.

  15. So I just submitted my first photos to join the 501st.
  16. One of the best and most useful tools that I purchased for my build was a tabletop belt sander for $60 at Harbor Freight.
  17. Being it was my first time attempting to build and my inexperience with my knowledge of where to get a blaster, I bought it and figured I might as well build it since it was in hand. I also had a lot of pieces that split or delaminated while trying to sand. Very time consuming project that I wouldn't want to do again. And I have 31yrs of working with my hands and tools. I would have rather attempted an aluminum build.
  18. I test fit and trimmed my armor several times before I got it to where I could move around relatively freely. There's definitely a process to it.
  19. Use blue tape to size the pieces to your body and try to leave at least 1/2" of room between your armor and body suit.
  20. The elite is most expensive but they have cheaper ones. As far as kits go, DoopyDoo's seem to be most popular. I like the Hyperfirm because they are made for trooping. They're actually made of a hard rubber, but look very realistic. I should have mine in hand soon.
  21. This is a nice looking blaster when finished but not screen accurate. Plus it was a real pain to build because of all the sanding required. Also, it is very fragile and would be destroyed if you dropped it while trooping. I didn't know this until after I had purchased it and built it. You can see my build thread in the ANH E-11 thread. I ended up ordering a Hyperfirm Elite E-11 for my approval. Still finishing my armor but getting close to submitting picks. I'll end up just putting this blaster on display. Like I said, it's very fragile.
