Well ... when I logged on , I had no idea that I would learn so much information that I'll store away in my meagre brain, and never use again ... Thanks to you good people , there is no need for me to step outside the house and commune with the common folk today , my day is complete !!!

What's holding me up ? Mostly , just that I'm a lazy bugger . I have everything done , but I don't have a camera , and I keep forgetting to get people to take photos for me . We are having a mini armour bbq tomorrow , so maybe I'll get some pictures .

Indeed , this is true . What I think it shows though is that no matter what the actual numbers were , there were really no hard and fast rules when they were making these props . They were making them to a very small budget , and as most of them were only for the background troopers , they didn't really need to be consistent . It is only now that we have hi definition capabilities that we can see any of this detail . I'm fairly sure that back then , they didn't really care , as long as the bloke in the white armour looked like he had a kick a very impolite person laser gun in his hand . For me though , my E-11 has all the bells and whistles I can fit on it

Just had a look at Parts of Star Wars ( thanks to the 2 Chris's for all their work ) , and according to them there were 8 different versions of the E11 in ANH . 5 had the cylinders , 4 of these had Hengstlers , and only 2 had the wires . I suppose by the time the propmakers had finishes making them , they didn't really give a damn if they had wires on them or not . Here's a pic from there , showing the wires , but it doesn't really help too much .

Yep , those of us in Oz are waiting ... I work 15 minutes from Fox Studios in Sydney ( where Eps II and III were filmed , and where the series , if it ever happens , is supposed to be being filmed at ) , and I know a few folk who work there , and at this stage there is nothing happening . But .... I went for a wander through the place last night , and there are some very large , very empty , sound stages there atm . Us local 501st live in hope

Well , I can report that Troy does in fact have a lovely workshop , and he does have have a box filled with lovely AP bits . The box almost got into my car , but I was intercepted before I could get away Hop to it Troy !!!

It's a horrid chemical smell , I think it must be some sort of pesticide or something they put on for the export market . Mine stank for ages , but I've had them for 4 months now , and it has gone away

Some card machines require you to put the security number in , otherwise they don't work . Depends on how the bank has set it up I think . The one where I work needs it whenever the card isn't swiped , ie phone or internet sales . CABoots are fine to deal with

Mine is held on to the belt with snaps , but some teenage hooligan managed to get it off my belt a couple of weeks ago . I'm thinking of epoxy glueing some of those little bolts from an old mecano set into the male part of the snap , and through the hole on the middle of the female part . Should hold it together nicely . Which leads me to ... I've done this , and once you are all snugged in , you can't move the thing

Went to my first troop over the weekend , and I don't know how many times I heard .. aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper ? Btw , I'm 5'10" and 170lbs , so NO , I'M NOT !!! Another one was ... ooh look , some Darth Vaders !! This happened twice . I teamed up with a sandy ( you know , I watch your back , you watch mine ) by the name of Katherine on sunday . People were coming up to us , congratulating us on our armour etc A common comment was ... good on you boys , nice job boys etc . When Kat answered back , she got back ... but you're a girl !!!
