  1. I'm getting there! I'm trying this thing on the butt plate, that will hopefully keep it from overlapping the kidney plate. We'll see if it works.
  2. Sunday Morning... Time to make the armor. Let's start with the easy stuff... Buttons on! Making some snap on straps Testin' the straps ... ... ... Time for lunch! Prep work for side rivets 'n' snaps
  3. It's actually my dining room table! LOL! My Wife is in Mertyl Beach with the kids this week, so I don't have to work in the basement, like I usually do.
  4. Still have a ways to go on these. Need to fix the gap at the bottom, and add the strips. Not sure if I need to fix the seems at the top, or what to do on the back yet. Nothing lines up on the AP kit... I just don't get it.
  5. Adding tabs to but plate/kidney. Used both E6000 (under tabs) and plastic weld (around edges) Go for tabs!
  6. Tabs for straps 'n' snaps Plastic Weld! Chest plate tabs Back plate tabs M-kay! ... Tah dah! Oh it's a beautiful thing!
  7. He even has the little ring at the front of the barrel!
  8. Yeah the helmet is all wrong, but that blaster is great.
  9. Wow, THIS is impressive!
  10. These rock! Stormy Bears
  11. Yo! Been getting back into my AP kit build lately. Seems that posting your progress is the right thing to do. As you can see, all parts have been cut out. And I'm just gluing the big stuff together. And the little stuff. Strips for arms and legs My custom O2 canister (AP end caps on the right), AP button panel AP caps on the left, mine on the right My custom belt clips Ab buttons, etc My poor helmet Thanks for lookin'!
  12. YOU ROCK!! Can't wait to see!
  13. Yeah, I like the idea of just attaching the liner without the parts from the hard hat. Because the outside of the HH pieces don't fit flush to the inside of your bucket, since that is where the HH's visor usually begins. But if (like you said) cover those HH pieces corner to corner, it works very well. And it's less work, easier make adjustments, etc. Just make sure you get the industrial strength stuff, it's good and sticky.
  14. I used a heat gun to push it down a bit... But that gap is pretty much how it should look. I'm not a fan of the big gap look myself. So I modified it.
  15. This has been my AP build Bible! AND... The ear pieces should cover a lot of that gap. I had the same issue with my AP helmet.
  16. ...AND... Try to velcro the cutout hard hat sections in FIRST (before gluing them in permanently). Get the fit right, outline the parts with a pencil. Remove the velcro, and glue those puppies!
  17. I love you guys. *Cartman Voice*
  18. I know, I was REALLY looking forward to putting it on! But I've already cut and now glued the arm pieces together. And I'm a bit of a stickler for screen accuracy... I think the look of the shims would bother me. Do you have any photos?
  19. Do you guys find the AP kit to be a bit small? I'm not over weight, I just have bigger arms, etc. But I can't fit my forearms or bicep armor on. And at this rate, I doubt my calves will even fit. Looks like this will be a display only deal for me. Kind of disappointing.
  20. You have to put the AP lid on sideways, then turn it (once it's on). Coming off though... rips my ears to shreds!
  21. Can the fingers be separated? Might be tough getting the gloves on. Where did you get it, how much?
  22. I'm still working on smoothing these out, but you get the idea. ----------
