  1. I agree... I've thought that myself before actually. In particular, one debate over the shape of the foam padding inside the ANH helmets. I stated that I preferred a cross shape to the 4 pointed star thing... their argument was that the star was "screen accurate." And that term didn't sound right to me, given that you never saw the inside, etc. But I guess I dismissed it as a common terminology used among troopers, armor builders, Star Wars costume collector's, etc. So let's rephrase it... to a more "authentic looking" helmet interior.
  2. You ROCK Mark! Jess
  3. 'Sup Troopers!? In my ongoing effort for screen accuracy... I 'm trying to locate some good clear shots of the chin straps, on a screen used ANH helmet. I'm just wondering how the (and where) the snaps go on the straps, how long the straps should be, etc. Hey, everyone needs a hobby... right!? Jess
  4. Now I need a TE lid! Jess
  5. Nooooooo!!
  6. Read a book in the bathtub?
  7. What do those run?
  8. what goes around comes around... he'll get his in the end I'm sure.
  9. Looks great man! Coming from a fellow AP owner.
  10. Thanks! I love the AP lid. Something about it just looks more "stormtroopery" than one's casted from an original. Maybe it's the sneering eye look? Yeah I re-enforce all my lids, with the exception of the VT build/review I just did. But it gives it a more authentic feel, gives the inside a finished look, and obviously makes it more durable. This was the inside of my first AP lid (nearly finished here): This was the inside of my ATA:
  11. I just ordered a couple sets of Mic Tips from Keith, and some hand-painted style tube stripes from Mike. I also just finished hand painting all the black and gray details. Not my best work, but... could be worse I suppose. I can still touch it up a bit, but the the white paint turned out pretty nice. I'm still smoothing out the inside a bit, and need to give it one more coat of textured paint. Then I will add the lens material.
  12. Not to beat a dead dewback or anything... but I still haven't received a helmet from the guy, not that I should get one for free, just that he swore that he shipped it on the 17th of July. So, I would definitely suggest avoiding anything on ebay that looks like it might be from this guy, the zero feedback rating should be a good indicator as well.
  13. Nice work man!
  14. He has 5 negatives left for him just in the past Month (including mine). I left mine Yesterday, at which he set his feedback to private.
  15. Well, ebay refunded my money thankfully. And honestly, at this point... I could care less about getting the lid. Especially now that I'm hearing he's a re-caster! I really just wanted to spare others, who might be considering a purchase from this guy. Jess
  16. Oh I know... that's been his game all along. I mean, every seller screws up once in a while (including me). But at least level with me, be a man about it, and take some responsibility for your actions.
  17. I would be interested in seeing photos! Jess
  18. His response below, he usually only responds when ebay gets involved. This time it's because I left negative feedback. One things for sure, he doesn't seem to take responsibility for his own actions. I paid instantly, and that was June 11th dude! Dear jjmcclear, I shipped it and have not checked on it. Once something leaves I assume all is well if there are no emails to the contrary. I am sorry if you did not recieve it, I included as an apology a set of accurate decals for the helmet which cost me $30 (a while back). All I can say is you could have emailed me and said you did not recieve it. You got your funds back and I am out the cash, the item and the feedback. Fantastic. Thanks
  19. This was his response to the negative feedback I left him. "Hey Amigo, I sent your item provided tracking and on top of that Ebay gave you a refund, I have the email to prove it. What else could I have done? Maybe mow your lawn?" My response: Dear fan_made, The USPS has no record of you shipping the item under that tracking number. All they can confirm is that you payed for the shipping label. It's been a Month and a half, and I luckily just got my money back as a courtesy from ebay. If the helmet DID show up on my door step tomorrow, I would give the funds back to ebay, even consider retracting the negative feedback. But you told me you shipped it on two different accounts, the last time was on July 17th (more than two weeks ago)! It should have been here by now... Besides, I originally paid for this item on the 11th of June, how happy can you realistically expect me to be with this transaction? - jjmcclear Uh... Am I the one who's wrong here?
  20. Uh, never.
  21. Comparison of my lids (Left) VT, ATA, AP

  23. Recently gave it a few coats of Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy
  24. Yeah, still no helmet.
