  2. 44 and just submitted my TX. I love cosplay.. will do it till it's no longer fun.
  3. I can BARELY get mine on even when screwing it on.. in armor with restricted movement it's virtually impossible.. I need options as well. member of the fathead brigade.
  4. Most makers are not going to want to separate a kit. There are only 2 "large" armor makers out there really. AM2 and RT Mod
  5. Both of these are pretty valid, Aaaron as thin as it is it would tear if I tried to anchor it at the ears though. and I've tried several types of tapes at the middle which all it wants to do is wrinkle the material as the eye's themselves have so much ridge they wont lay flat without crinkleing. This is by far the msot fustrating thing in this build so far.. something so simple is turning out to be so hard. Cutting for each eye may be my best bet.. that or finding some kind of flexible plastic sheild I can cut and use to stiffen it so I can use the ear anchor method. Looked at a bunch of shops cannot find anything like that though.
  6. see really thin.. no body at all to even drill. and tape just wrinkles it.
  7. My film is like super thin mirrored window tint.. there is no way in hell you could do that with it.. It needs some stiffness..
  8. Hey Tony, I've got this super thin lens from TB I cannot for the life of me see how it's supposed to get mounted.. Someone told me tape.. tried that it looks terrible.. Its so thin I cant use screws or rivets.. not sure what to do that and the fans are my last 2 pieces to finish my helmet.. ( at least until I can afford a Comm system like yours)
  9. AM2 is HUGE.. in a good way.. no shimming for 80% of larger body types.. the MTK Breastplate literally fits inside of mine. perfect for us "less than perfect" body types.. I'm 5'11 and 215lbs and it fits me perfectly.
  10. overstatement how? I know personally of at least 10 here locally all using AM2 sets and helmets all approved with ease... There are many here mainly because the seller is in the local Garrison.. And far more out there especially in the Northern California garrison where the other partner is based. Which part exactly is an "overstatement"
  11. having a REAL hard time mounting my Trooperbay mirrored lens in my helmet as well as trying to get the Evilboy fans mounted. any advice would be great. The film is too darn thin..
  12. These are my friends out of Georgia Garrison at Dragon Con.. both AM2 setups.
  13. AM2 is flat awesome. Been working on mine with several other people that are 501st. Compared to other kits the material and finish is way way ahead. No trimming at all except for size and some return edges, Finish is as mentioned above spectacular, and much thicker ABS than others seem to be using. The guy that was helping me build liked it so much he sold his MTK set on the spot and ordered AM2.
  14. The new AM2 helmet is VERY good. there have been many approvals since it came out. Not the same at all as the old FX/AM same goes for the rest of the molds.. AM2 is way ahead of previous sets.
  15. Mine is an AM2 and mandatory to go with Hero for ShadowTrooper. Decals were fine and look great. Helmet passes with ease for Hero qualifications.
  16. My Shadowtrooper AM2 will arrive wednesday reading all the material on it.. nice job so far.
  17. I went with AM2 to fit my non perfect frame. Was told by many it is a larger set that will require far less modding for us imperfect body types.
