  1. yes - this ! I saw the Anovos tweets and social media storm over the weekend about "order before XX date to ensure Halloween delivery" and just about laughed myself off my chair. I truly wish they could get their act together as a business. Their products are top shelf, arguably the best out there, but it takes an act of congress to get them to ship something or god forbid refund you your money.
  2. I ordered the first wave of ANH TK armor from Anovos on 5/4/2015. They told us right off the bat that it was going to be a year wait. It ended up being 18 months and honestly I wasn't mad about it. I got in at their ridiculously discounted launch price of $250 for the kit plus shipping. I waited, wrangled for the local garrison a couple times, borrowed a TK for my first (unofficial) troop, built my blaster and just chilled. The glory of that box finally arriving was worth the wait and I'm a huge fan of my Anovos TK. I ordered my wife's TIE pilot helmet from Anovos because it was in stock and we had it in 7 days. I purchased an Anovos FOTK helmet while at Disney in Orlando and I had it in 8 weeks as I was told. I was happy with Anovos and ready to drop money whenever they announced a FOTK kit. Then they did and I ordered it that day. Super pumped about getting it and started prepping for the rest of what I was going to need. I got my boots, my gloves, my blaster kits, everything. Then the FOTK was delayed. I wasn't mad, I understood that perfection takes time and I dealt with it while talking my local squad mates into sticking out the wait with me so that our armor would all match. We were good. then Anovos delays again, this time announcing that the molds being used were not up to par with what they were trying to achieve. This isn't the kind of technical delay that a couple extra months will fix. Literally remaking the molds broke me. I had to get out. So I did. I'm on day 11 of the 12-15 business day grace period they request for refunds. I moved my money to the run of gelcoated fiberglass kits Mimic is doing on the RPF. It's twice the cost, but visually stunning and being made by someone openly communicating about the process including whatever delays/hiccups/errors he's run into. So while I likely won't have a FOTK to wear with my kids this halloween (they are being kylo and a fotk made from the giant action figure) I know my money went to builder that not only respects those giving him money but isn't dicking around interest free business loans like Anovos is. Anovos and I are done, well almost. I didn't cancel my pauldron order with them. It can take as much time as it needs cuz I don't care anymore about having it.
  3. I'm aware of the Disney/LFL embargo on weapons at some events and in certain areas as well as specific countries not allowing prop guns of any kind at all. I was just surprised that there was a restriction in Colorado. Sorry to sidetrack this thread. Lets get back to the important business of anxiously awaiting progress pics from Mimic!
  4. Why can't you troop with a blaster in Colorado? I'm on this armor run as well. I'll have to get my own build thread up as the production dates get closer.
  5. thanks for posting this. I've been debating which one of these to order while casually hoping anovos will add it to their 2025 release calendar.
  6. Congrats Brock! You look great and honestly, it's always a pleasure trooping with you. This is officially the motivation I need to get my EIB submission in.
  7. The bipod still exists but hasn't arrived to me yet. I bought this from a garrison member who delivered the blaster first and just found the bipod earlier this week. My plan has been to glue it back on but a functional one would be (arguably) better. Is the leather sling ok to troop with? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I recently acquired a hyperfirm DLT19. The bipod broke off and needs to be glued back on. It's a b grade so I don't mind this hassle but it got me thinking about attaching a functional bipod. Does anyone have insight about whether a 3d printer bipod would work? Is there a way to screw something into the hyperfirm rubber? This is what I'm working with. Not the dog, Chewie can't not be on the couch if I'm near the couch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I also jumped on it as did half a dozen others in my squad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks! I'll check this out. I'm hoping to also put a strip of LEDs down the muzzle as well to show 'the shot' emit through the barrel and end at a red LED at the end. I've yet to find screen shots to backup my idea, but....
  11. Do you have any photo's of this setup? Perhaps a report of how you installed it?
  12. Does anyone have a schematic for how you wired lights and possibly sounds into your F11? I'm working on assembling one of the 3D models available here (http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32544-free-tfa-f-11d-3d-printable-files-available-now/). I've seen posts regarding balloon lights in the mag and counter but I'm unsure how/where to put a switch to turn them on/off. I'd also like to wire the muzzle with lights to emulate the blaster firing. If you've done this, please post how or PM me. I'd also be interesting in buying an electronics kit from someone that knows what they are doing. I don't mind doing the wiring/soldering myself but... lets just say I'm not very good at it and not talk about the small fires that I've 'accidentally' lit in my workroom.
  13. I've admired your build via Facebook, looks fantastic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I did not receive a discount code. Nor was I allowed to use a discount code with the payment plan option. I look forward to their soft goods pricing and will probably order that along with a pauldron when announced. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I wired this setup today. Using two 5v fans powered by a single 5v 3200mHa usb power stick. It is loud as hell inside and outside my helmet. Any suggestions for quieting it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I got the HTT, the amp is terribly under powered. After 3 weeks of trying to find "the right conditions to make it work" I ordered one of Tony's amps. Don't waste your time with HTT. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. TK62108 formally requesting 501st Access. I've been an approved TK since May 2016 and owe a great deal of gratitude to Ukswrath and his Anovos tutorial. I'm very proud to be here. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=21526
  18. After more time with this setup and attempting multiple microphones and microphone placement, I can confirm that it's pretty much garbage. Sure, it works BUT the digitizer leaves your voice mostly unintelligible. I have not been able to place a microphone anywhere except for in my mouth to get reasonable volume and when I get volume the Hopi tips feedback because the mic is too close to them. <br><br> I can't hate on the tips themselves, for tiny little speakers they function as they should. The rest of the kit needs to be replaced. I just sent UKSWRATH a PM to discuss whether his amp will work with these tips. <br><br> TL:DR don't buy the hightechtoyz kit.
  19. Ok, I installed this speaker system last night. The Hovi tip speakers aren't terrible. The digitizer and amplifier aren't terrible. the Mic is terrible. I pretty much have to place it in my mouth for it to pick up what I'm saying. What mic's do you folks use?
  20. ok. Well, since I found it offered via a facebook post from someone upgrading to the iComm I jumped on it. It comes with the Hovi tip speakers and this little amp. If it's not loud enough to function properly, I'll put it back on the market for the same price I paid. If it works, I saved some money. Either way I'll be sure to update you all here. Cheers Troopers.
  21. That speaker is included in the kit I linked. Did you try the hovi tips or just that one?
  22. Was the problem with his hovi tip speaker or with the amp that powered it? 2x1.5watt 8ohm speakers should be plenty in my (primarily musical) experience. If the amp can't push enough gain without feeding back, then yeah it needs an upgrade. You switch to Tony's hovi tip system? His speakers are half the power rating which again points me to the linked kit not having enough jucie in the amp. If the price was reduced to $100 instead of the $160 would you have found it more worthwhile?
  23. Does anyone have experience or advise regarding this product? http://www.ebay.com/itm/181869042218?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I understand that the static bursts aren't automatic like the iComm, but as an all inclusive, in the bucket, design I don't mind not having the static. If this is a good reliable kit with quality amplification I'm going to jump on it. Thoughts?
