  1. I'll measure the decals spaces that aren't cut out for the black mesh. The chest pill holes and bicep, lower wrist ovals are cutout aren't they? I've been under the impression that the Chest "V", ab boxes, forearm boxes and the rest are decals.
  2. @JAFO or @ukswrath - do either of you know a good source for the assorted decals we're going to need? I just ordered 3 sets of Tony's black mesh and gaffers tape. Looking for the other black decals we need.
  3. I don't see this return edge in the shoulder lip on any of the CRL shoulder images. I'm not convinced it needs to exist. I'm honestly surprised that this part isn't included on the shoulder bell in the mold. There's not a whole lot of sense in adding this one as the seam would look much better if it was included on the mold. It is what it is and I'll be corrected my mistake tonight either by reattaching the trapezoid with ABS paste or just cutting out a new one.
  4. Halloween time is incredibly busy at my house so I haven’t had as much time as I hoped to worked on this kit after getting home from Pittsburgh last week. Oh well. I finished trimming everything except the upper back ridge, TD halves, and belt/AB boxes. I’ll trim those when it’s time to build them. I had an oh shucks moment after trimming the shoulder bell lip. There was an odd trapezoid shape in the trim line, I cut it. I definitely should not have. Oh well, I can trace these parts on any of the large scraps I have left and make new ones. Could be worse, could be the yoke return edge. I had hoped to turn the 8 forearm pieces into 4 today but I couldn’t locate half of my clamps and magnets. They’re here somewhere. I glued this half of the forearms and will have to give the E6000 24 hours or so to cure before I join the halves. I’m an likely going to need to order more magnets or gluing all of this is going to take months. Not to mention the bondo work I’ve got coming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Not just the inner chest but the back needs it around the arms too Roberto.
  6. well, at least the TK shown getting killed in the RoS trailer has a very minimal return edge on the yoke. I've decided that I'm going to assemble the yoke/back as is and then sort out what to do about the return. No sense in adding it back to 2 pieces separately.
  7. I'm thinking that EVA foam, not sintra (my mistake), coated in epoxy or fiberglass resin would survive the rough and tumble land of trooping. The photo Tony posted looks like the return is about 1/2 inch.. is there a specific length I need to strive for?
  8. would adding the return edge made from sintra and coated in an epoxy and bondo work? I'm trying to wrap my head around options for this that don't involve needing a new piece of plastic from someone else.
  9. I would expect it to be a few months before they are shipping any new parts from new molds. But I'll reach out to him just in case.
  10. thanks Tony. I'll have to figure out how to add one back. I certainly have a ton of scrap ABS to work with. I think I have your metal shoulder tabs in my pile of supplies. Is that tab in the photo the same way yours are attached?
  11. Well, I guess I’ll have to put the yoke on and take a photo when I get back to VT on Wednesday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Well, shucks. That’s going to be difficult. Would you mind snapping a picture of yours so I can see what the problem is. As you said, the CRL makes no mention of this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah, I cut the yoke out right on their trim lines. I take it I need to add a return edge? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. They didn’t really leave much there and I didn’t think to leave excess beyond the trim line until I finished these two. I haven’t cut the connecting ridge piece out yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. The back plate and TD plate are separate pieces. I stood them up together for the photo. I have no idea if I’ll fit into this thing without any seams. I’m leaning toward needing to cut the back as you said. I went ahead and trimmed off that excess on the chest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I thought the black pauldrons were all distributed! Had no idea those were still mostly missing. I don’t recall your pauldron build, I’ll check that out when my kids hit the sheets tonight. The 3 of us with this BSP kit are toying with the idea of making unofficial green mountain pauldrons with these small ones. I’ll take that extra return off the chest tonight before packing this back up until next weekend. Thanks for the info. This is the box still needing to be cut out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Trimming, trimming, and more trimming. I feel like I’m over the hump in terms of cutting these out. My right hand is rather swollen from my scissors so I’m going to call it on cutting until I get back to VT later this week. I intentionally left some extra plastic on the sides of the center abdomen armor. I’m not sure if I’ll need to shim anything yet so figured it was safe to keep a bit. How much of a return edge is needed on the outer chest armor? Again, I left more than I think is needed. The details are crisp. The lower back parts are very nicely shaped to fit together. I haven’t cut out the TD yet but it slides right into the rails like a glove. I only roughly cut out the pauldron BSP sent. It’s much too small. Here are some photos comparing to the Anovos FO pauldron. If this BSP is used as a base for leather on top, it could be perfect. That’s out of my wheelhouse, so I’m just going to drop this thing in my bin of extraneous parts. Maybe a short FOTK will be able to use it at some point? Now lastly, because I’m a child. You can all look at my crotch. I think this will work for TLJ. If not, I’ll sort something out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Once the seams are bondo’d the cover strip appearance may go away. Here are a few pics of the overlapping halves for both sides. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Trimming. My fingers can’t handle any more trimming tonight. I got the legs all cut out and about half of the arms. Overall, the trim lines are great. The ABS is pretty inconsistent in terms of thickness. It never gets “too thin” but it’s definitely thicker in some places. The leg parts all have fabulous tabbed sides that fit great together and will make glueing fantastically easy. I need to go check other builds and pictures for return edges on the hand side of the forearms. I’m not sure how much of this to cut off yet, so I didn’t. The upper recess, looks deeper depending on the angle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Alright alright alright. This is actually going to become a build thread now. Since I am building a TLJ FOTK, might have to move this thread to the other forum. The kits have been delivered and sorted into 3 sets. My plan for this weekend is to get it all trimmed. Then when I return from Pittsburgh on Wednesday I can start glueing. I don’t have photos of every piece at the moment. I did take these. The forearm recess at the top is rather shallow but no depth is mentioned in the CRL so I’m not concerned at the moment. The pauldron is small. The last photo is my Anovos pauldron laying on top of the BSP. The sizing is somewhat comical, though anyone smaller than me may be able to use it. As you can see, one of the AB boxes was hacked during BSP’s trimming process. They’ve agreed to send replacements though I haven’t a clue how long that will take get here. 21. The rationale for the delayed shipment provided is "I am so pissed off by the former forwarder. Took the boxes and quoted super high rate. Take time to settle down shipping issue. Now it ship by ups. You could have it soon. So sorry." It looks like BSP bit the bullet and paid outrageously high shipping rates to get these kits to me in 2 days from Taiwan. We may have had a bumpy road on this project thus far, but BSP is maintaining their reputation. I can't wait to see these tomorrow. I'll post up pictures and unboxing video's
  22. I was sent a tracking number at 3AM this morning. The UPS tracking info shows label created 10/14/19 and delivery on 10/16/19. They claim these were shipped 3 weeks ago but the label was created yesterday, that speaks volumes to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I've ordered stuff from international sellers before and understand the long travel times. The thing that is killing me is their refusal to provide details, things like what courier they are using and a tracking number. I'm shocked honestly that what should be a simple piece of data to provide is causing me so much anxiety. I'm going to dial my focus into getting D-O driving around. That should distract me from the pile of FOTK parts collecting dust.
  24. Well, it's been two weeks since BSP told me these kits shipped. I don't have them. BSP has thus far not provided any details on the shipment. No tracking number, not even the name of the shipping service they are using. Instead they merely tell me that the boxes have shipped and that "I should see the delivery soon." I understand all to well that international shipping takes awhile, however no purchase of this value should be dispatched without sufficient tracking information. Without it, neither myself nor BSP have any proof against lost or stolen goods. I know BSP has a strong track record of producing and distributing quality armor. I'm hesitant to refer people to them due to this lack of shipment information. Hopefully my nervous wait will end soon.
  25. well, BSP tells me that the boxes have been shipped to me but thus far they have not provided any tracking info. I'm hesitant to get my hopes up but maybe these will arrive shortly. I've got 3 sets of this armor being shipped to me. Two of my squad mates are going to be building along with me. I'm not sure if we'll all use this build thread or if they will start their own. This FOTK will be their first FISD submission.
