Khazara started following HWT - Pack Build and HOWTO: Bolted rubber sealed removable eye lenses
-
Just did the inside of my helmet with Plasti Dip and it was so easy! I took great care to mask everything off carefully but the Plasti Dip doesn't run and spread and leak anywhere near as much as regular spray paint. Very pleased with the results! This is 2 coats. After I took the photo here, I later touched up around the eyes with black paint.

I'm working on my build right now and I'm really liking the bar magnets. After ordering one set I just ordered another. Here's a pic. I didn't include the link because this particular seller is out of stock.

Throat Mics. Recommendations ?
Khazara replied to Pretzel's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
I tried a throat mic once. Really enjoyed it with the Aker amp, but didn't like that it set off the icomm all the time. -
Hi Bill, I'm actually "The Other Todd" in Imperial Sands, it wasn't me at B&N. As for the notification for armor parties I'm not exactly sure how they're publicized or what forums future members have access to, so I've reached out to our CO (Lesley) and XO (the Todd you met) for more details. If you don't know where/when they are, then that's a problem!

If you SD-area folks haven't done so already, please do join the Imperial Sands Garrison forums and introduce yourselves. FISD will be THE resource for building the Anovos TK but having local help is also advantageous especially if this is your first build.

I wear a 10. I ordered a U.S. Size 10 from imperial boots last year, they arrived as EUR sz 43 and they are very snug across the top of the foot. I just ordered another pr from TKBoots yesterday and I'll have them in hand this week. Hoping there's a little more room in those. I do realize stretching them out is also a possibility to provide a better fit.

In Imperial Sands Garrison (San Diego) There will be several TK build days planned, dates aren't yet set. They were originally going to do them a few months ago but decided to postone the armor parties until the Anovos kits came out. Living in Temecula, you can probably go to either OC or SD!

Ordered on 4/17/15 at Celebration. Received Fri 1/22/16 in SoCal. Taking all the parts out is a little intimidating! I'm most worried about the trim lines and where to leave return edges. I've only built one previous costume -- Biker Scout-- and those pieces were already rough trimmed. There's some ear gap on the helmet unfortunately. And I don't like the way the helmet hard-hat liner and visor lens are only loosely held by Velcro but that just means it's very adjustable, right? :-) Photo caption: "where should I begin?"

Binoculars? Where to get em?
Khazara replied to Templar726's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
My orders are in! I won a Radica sub assault game on ebay this week and also ordered the Doopydoos conversion pieces. Should be a fun project, my first involving primarily painting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

I have been looking into this myself, recently, as well. Here's a tutorial on making a pair from a similar Rubbermaid pitcher: http://costumebot.com/electrobinoculars-tutorial Not screen accurate of course but a decent approximation. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
