  1. Been meaning to update. I started Keto Sept 2018 and lost 50 lbs in the last year. Feeling great and getting tons of stuff done. Had big birthday back in January and finally got the house in order, kids moved out but never took anything with them. Just got everything ready for Thanksgiving and will have more time to be in the shop and get back to working on my armour. I've got the helmet started and a spare pair of glasses to add inside so I can actually see. Have a lot more energy and feel good, I had to buy new clothes since they were all too baggy. I plan on losing more and don't yet know what my new goal will be. Have been intermittent fasting as well and weekends tend to eat more and usually one meal a day OMAD and not feeling anxious when I don't have food all the time. I look forward to seeing how others are progressing. Hoping I can get my armour completed in the new year. Ideally would like to move to a warmer state in a year or so and want to see the difference between trooping here in Michigan and beyond. Happy Turkey day. Cashew
  2. I was one of the lucky ones, contacted Imperial Boots and my pair was in the warehouse. Paid on 10th and Postman had here on 23rd. I had to wait till 25th to pickup at the post office, been wearing them daily since. I normally wear size 12-13, one foot swells and needs the room. I ordered size #48 which is US 13 and they fit well, 2 different styles of socks over 3 days and can tell it's stretched slightly where it feels even better. They look great, have not yet been outside in them, mostly sitting at my desk making "pew pew" sounds. I would buy again from Imperial Boots, easy ordering, and delivery. The included patch is a nice touch.
  3. Add me to the balaclava wearing club, still need to purchase one. On a local troop I heard kids comment about seeing the beard and chin and it did break the illusion a bit in my opinion. I'll have fans so starting out with one, won't know any difference in heat. Any recommended brands to try?
  4. It's been almost 6 months since my last update. Took a slight detour for a few months, needless to say I'm up and kicking. Working on getting my new normal. My big brown box came and looks great, Imperial Boots came this week, and yup I'm wearing them around the house to get my stink in them just right. Ordered pieces parts and once rush of getting prepared for my son's graduation is over can focus on armor. I'm watching closer what I'm eating and getting beneficial exercise and the lawn work needs it. Got a 5K that the wife and I will be in another week. Anxious to get my recumbent bike on the road again, it's pumped up and ready. I'm stoked and can't wait to build up my energy along with my TK build. It's going to be a great year.
  5. Good idea on being removable, But what's this if TK's were real,Dude what are we saying???? I'm going to consult with Santa and The Easter Bunny. I did snap a photo of BigFoot the other day saving big money at Menard's. Was about 2.5 foot tall and strapped to a trailer hitch carrier.
  6. My armor is getting molded this week, clown turning into a TK. I know some of these events can be rough. As a retired Scoutmaster I know better than to attend a Cub Scout Blue & Gold, in clown or other character. Kids are at there worst in groups, funny it's a "Pack", but not funny the behavior. Lots of School carnivals, meet & greets taught me what to expect and protect myself and those with me. It's a jungle out there, good thing TK's are packing heat. Be safe and Troop on.

    Movember

Got a couple days early head start and then shaved to a Goat-y. So technically been shaving every other day to keep it looking fine and wife happy. It's feeling itchy right now, is it past Turkey day yet?
  8. Been a few months since I've checked in. Several months fighting to get my blood leveled out due to losing the weight. Yo yo-ing blood up and down made work life difficult and exercising non existent, which I have managed to setup a home gym in the basement for the family. I'm back on track with the blood, so feeling mean and now just need to get lean. Ok lame, but I gotta be me. I'm up a few pounds, so need to buckle down and get er done. I was this close to being at the halfway mark and ordering my boots. I'm OK with Santa bringing them a bit later, but he better. (How much coal can I burn in the fireplace, again this year).... Here's to a new month and getting back on track to my goal and hoping to hear my armor is next in line. It's getting closer at least, wife has been telling folks about my TK dreams and caffeine wishes. I was keeping it more silent till I can strap in and become a Trooper. Cashew
  9. Ryan good luck on working on it, Bob I have to agree the weight is won or lost in the kitchen not the exercise room. I was looking back and when I lost 20 lbs it was visible but didn't change how I felt, 30 started to feel so much better, 40-50 feeling awesome. I gotta say as of this morning weighed in at 259 didn't think I'd ever see the 250's in my lifetime again. So far 61 lbs total lost and I'm getting stuff done before and after work. House is starting to look good, I was able to work on my wife's car and changed her oil. I feel great. I can't wait for each day and I have hope. I know that I'll get to my goal and keep it. My motivation and desire to be "A Plastic Space Man" is great in this one. I'll post up a before photo, only 9 more lbs away, which is my next goal I'll be half way there and lost 70 lbs. I'll celebrate with ordering my Boots. I'm one excited TK Wannabe. Cashew
  10. Deadvison way to go trooper. I'm catching up, got down to 270 and did my best to eat well on vacation at Universal. Cost me 4 lbs, but already lost 2 of those again, expect to drop the other 2 over the weekend. So I'll be down 50 lbs, can I say my 50 1st? Then 20 more before ordering my boots, getting projects out of the way so I'll have time and room to work on the armor when it arrives toward the end of the year. Keep on keeping on Troopers. Everyone have a great 4th. Cashew
  11. Bobio, great numbers there. Weighing in is your thing not hers, I have the same thing here. The LoseIt app I use encourages daily weigh in's to see where the trends are and catch it if something goes wrong. I enjoy looking back at previous days for calories and nutrients to see my good, better and best days. I use the free program, it's got enough data to play with without going overboard. I tried the my fitness pal, but seem to like this other one better. It was recommended here on Whitearmor in the trooper fit club. I'm eating much better and truly enjoying what I'm eating and not hungry or having cravings for anything. Cutting out the occasional sodas and especially the sauces and huge calories on dressings and oils/fats. Changed from frozen waffles with PB&J to oatmeal, honey and banana. Lunch sandwich or salad with lots of dressing to noodles and few ounces of protein and soy sauce. Dinners from frozen crap to Rice and protein. Drinking lots of water and down to 1 pot of coffee a day. Here's to all those working on getting themselves in better shape and bucket ready. Cashew
  12. Bobio good luck with the diet and exercise, great to get the blood pressure in check. TK build is a big commitment and that's my goal and motivation as well. I thought it was longer since I Iast updated. Got up and scale showed 279, so getting more excited than ever. At 250 I plan on ordering my boots, I had been loosing before keeping track with "Lose it" app, Winter was officially highest at 320, and that put's me at 41 lbs gone and hope to never see again, so only 99 more to go. I got this, I like how the scale stays the same for a few days goes up 1 and then down 2, this time no up and down 2, almost 3. Getting ready for a long needed vacation and had to get a new swim suit, skipped past the speedo's and more modest board shorts. Good luck to all in their Trooper fitness, Cashew
  13. Sindre good luck with bulking up. Would be fun to see some trooper exercise videos, I can tell I won't be making any videos at this time. Maybe once I'm suited up, yeah I could see me doing that. 2 Month update, I'm feeling great and doing really good. I'm down to 287 and it shows, my shirts are getting longer along with my belt. Having to go through the closet to pull out some smaller sizes, I wanna be a trooper not look like a plumber. Been busy planning and playing with assorted electronics for the bucket and electronics for a pew pew maker. While continuing to make great food choices, loving every minute of it, Anxious to start grilling for the season. Got plenty of projects to keep me busy through out the summer months. Move along, Cashew
  14. I saw the canakit, and found a single board version that was pretty easy to put together, thinner soldering iron would have helped. I'm happy with it. Super Stereo Ear Project Kit http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/80-7352 Good luck with your helmet upgrades, can't wait to get my bucket. Cashew Sure I recheck the link, and now it's out of stock. Glad I got mine.
  15. I see this "Hot topic" is read only. So It's been a month and I'll update for myself, read everything in this forum on previous troopers on what worked for them. Took the advice and loaded up "Lose it" for my phone, got my wife on it as well. It's been years since I tracked everything I ate, and this time tracking a bunch of food info, I keep going back to previous days and weeks to see what I was eating that was swinging my fat/carb/protein all over the place. It's working and I have not been this happy and energized in years, last time was close to this weight would be a bunch of throat surgery and couldn't eat. Eating real food, not substituting "fake food" for food choices, not starving myself, and most importantly not effecting my blood in a negative way. Had a lot of ahh ahh moments, realized last summers eating huge salads the "good" olive oil & vinegar that I was dressing it with was in fact adding 300-400 calories and no way the rest of the ingredients could compensate for the high calorie count for this item. Duh Today I'm down 10 lbs took a few weeks before anything started coming off, figure the last 2.5 weeks is where my mind wrapped around the concept of eating and now I get it. I'm full and content and losing currently without yet adding a bunch of exercise. I plan to add to the exercise, just need to finish several items/projects that are taking up my future troop time. Biggest thing has been looking ahead at a food item and seeing what effect/cost (caloric count) it will cost me and then make choices on what i want and not be surprised by logging it after I've shoved it in my pie hole. FYI: no pie yet eaten, but I'm not opposed to it or anything else, just need to offset with other good choices. Good luck to all that are on similar paths. Cashew
