  1. I have one of those spyear things (it's a bit like a hearing aid) installed, the mic is glued in the left ear cap with a small hole drilled in one of the stripes so it can pick up the sound and I use a pair of in-ear headphones with it. I would post some pics but all my gear is packed for a troop in a few hours, when I get back I can post pics if you want.
  2. Same here, I thought the FX was short for AFX. I was told to stay away from MFX but I think they recently upgraded it, can't remember where I read it so don't quote me on that
  3. I added a chin strap to my RT-Mod the other day, it helps keep the lenses in the right spot when I try to look down but really I added it because I like adding stuff to my helmet Here's one showing how I attached the straps (it's the same on the other side): -------------- The strap is just two pieces of elastic, one longer than the other and I attached snaps on each end to join them. I tried a one piece strap but got stuck and couldn't get the helmet off I got the idea for mine from this post by Troopermaster... Link
  4. Looks like it was a good day for both of us TK2983 reporting for duty. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember...amp;userID=7576
  5. I think the 'Mark IV' means you're up to the ANH deployment standards (Mark V being the ESB standards and VI being ROTJ)
  6. Thanks guys Just finished work on it, there are a few small things I'd like to improve on but they can wait a while
  7. Not having the cash for me, I've already upgraded my helmet and am happy with my FX armour so I'm not really in a rush to upgrade but if I had cash to spare I would (and possibly turn the FX into a TD )
  8. I cut mine along the bottom of the ab plate, mainly because it was easier to do with the equipment that I had but I did think that along the bottom might give you a bit more flexibility since it's not effected by the belt as much (I think) I also added snaps to the cod and ab plate so it could be removed completely which allows the cod to move up under the ab plate a bit so I can sit without much trouble I don't really think it's helped with bending over that much but it did make sitting less awkward
  9. I normally go with Imageshack because it's pretty quick and gives you the codes for posting images in forums. You could also try Photobucket, I haven't really used photobucket but I think it's pretty good and you can have online albums. Hope that helps
  10. They might have thought you were talking about the 1:1 scale MR E-11, the scaled replica is 0.33 scale (which works out to be just under 7" long, the 1:1 scale is about 21" and costs quite a bit more than the scaled version ) I just checked the site you found that pic on and it is the small version
  11. I started building my own SE-14R about a week ago (because the E-11 was giving me grief ) Still have quite a bit to do but it's starting to come together pretty well.
  12. I don't really know how the RT-Mod compares to other helmets (in terms of size) but here's how I did my fans: -------------- I could only find the 3" blower type fan so it's a bit cramped. I did have two standard 50mm fans but because of the space in the helmet and limited air flow I swapped one out and put the blower in and now I get enough air to clear the lenses if they fog and keep me cooler. I think I have more pics of the fans here somewhere that I could post if needed. Hope that's of some use.
  13. I used an exacto knife to do mine but I would have used the dremel if I had cutting wheels at the time
