  1. I can see it animating too???
  2. It sounds like the person has a full PM inbox. If they exceed their storage quota and forget to empty out a few old messages they won't be able to receive new ones. Send me a PM just to make sure it works on your end and we can go from there...
  3. Let me test it out. Reply before editing. Reply after editing. Ok that seemed to work - is it only failing on old posts being edited?
  4. Sorry Joey! I didn't even think to be a bit more clear in my post... I guess i was lost in computer world after fine tuning the CSS this morning... Thanks for the rescue A.C!
  5. Hi Troopers, We've made some more forum upgrades - and this one's the big one. We've added a full Reception Menu sidebar to the forum pages! Easy access to all the CRL's, Tutorials and How To's you've been looking for right on the forum page. Whether you're using the White Skin or the Blue/ Black Skin if you're not seeing this new look page (if you're like me and leave your browser open 24/7) then be sure to empty you cache, hit refresh and voila! New improved FISD again! In fact there are a few more tweaks to come in the next few weeks so it's probably not a bad idea to refresh or empty the cache every now and then just in case! Over and Out Lucas
  6. 'We were using an older code sir... But it checks out'
  7. Hi Warmshoe - head over to the new member introductions and introduce yourself. It's great to have you join The differentiation between "stunt" and "hero" is primarily that the stunt helmets were worn by the 'anonymous' Stormtrooper troops (Tantive IV raiding party, Tatooine, Death Star etc) while the Hero lids were those worn by Luke and Han when in Stormtrooper disguise or for close ups at the Millenium Falcon gangway. Of course this isn't a 100% strict division. 6 hero lids were made for ANH and there are times when background troops can occasionally be seen wearing them but basically that's the rule. Hope this helps
  8. Congratulations! Don't forget to post your 501st Status request - http://forum.whitear...hp?showtopic=16
  9. Just bumping this back to top for you Mason so people don't miss it! Sorry about that
  10. Happy birthday! Hope the movie and the Chinese are both great!
  11. Doesn't that result in your cover strips being somewhat lop sided? ie: about 2mm on one side and about 8mm on the other?
  12. Your build looks great - once you get those mic tips and get approved I'd do an EIB application if I was you.
  13. Would be awesome if Pandatrooper or TKrestonva could chime in on this one...
  14. OK kids - I do believe this is fixed. If it still does it on the first test page you try be sure to clear your cache so that your browser loads the changes to the code. Then all should be just fine and dandy
  15. I'm on it - will report back to get some feedback when I think it's fixed. I think you might be right Vern...
  16. Let's not forget "Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper"
  17. Weirdly - that's actually a known phenomenon. It's called the 'Hollow Mask Effect", and psychiatrists use it in testing. Oddly, research shows that people suffering from schizophrenia can tell the difference between the inside and outside facing masks 90% more often than the rest of us. Back on topic - this a great build thread. It should be the official replacement for the 'instructions' that come with the AM kit. Bookmarking for updates. PS you couldn't be in better hands with regards to your 'mentor'
  18. Bienvenue le nouveau section française! Félicitations!
  19. Great work! The EU TK's are really taking off around here. Keep posting pics of your progress so we can keep growing EU trooper knowledge on the forum. Maybe do a build thread if you make a go of the flamethrower?
  20. Joey - to be sure the white theme is bright! But that's why the blue theme is there as an alternative. I used to use the red theme rather than the ESB theme for that reason. Others find that white text on black hurt their eyes and requested black on white for the same reason! Mathias - because I did use the red and black theme over the ESB theme my memory of the ESB theme is hazy. To my recollection the basic layout and function (Nav bar up top, forums to the left, recent topics top right) seems essentially the same. Can you be specific as to any layout/functions/GUI aspects that you preferred? Some things are a permanent change with IPB 2.3 but some specific requests might be able to be filled. Name names!
  21. Ladies and Gentlemen! By popular demand there is now an alternative white theme skin up and rolling for the new look FISD forums. To choose between the current default blue/black theme page and the white theme simply scroll to the bottom of the page and find the 'Change Skin' menu. Choose 'FISD.2011.White' when the menu appears like this: You will see your theme change to the new white. Like it better? Keep it! Prefer the Blue/Black theme? Change it back! After all - it's your FISD
  22. I've actually got an Applause figure (more statuette than figure I suppose) of Han in Stormtrooper gear that is surprisingly accurate. Other than that the most accurate TK I've ever come across is the Epic Force range which is an ESB TK on a revolving base. (will try to post pics later) The marmit is the only other one that comes close. Every other TK model/figure I've ever seen is just wrong. There seems to be something about the TK design that is hard for people to sculpt. Just like when you look at the comics etc" no one seems to be able to draw a TK right...
  23. Bump to make sure no one misses this
  24. Hi everyone, I thought I'd take a moment to address the new forum upgrades and help everyone get the most out of the new look of the FISD. Firstly let me say that the upgrade path is always fraught with surprises and a learning curve, so while we have done our best to stay on top of any glitches or bugs as more and more people start using it who knows what new issues might be discovered buried deep in the bowels of the Death Star, so feel free to post any oddities you may experience here. Ok - onto the important stuff! First Things First The first thing everyone should do is check to make sure they are using the FISD2011.2 skin. You will find the 'Change Skin' button at the bottom of the page. It is set to default currently but if, during the problems last week, you manually changed your settings to the IP.Board default skin you may still have that interface appear when you log in. It might also help to empty your cache after choosing the new skin and hit refresh. This will ensure all the new features and skin changes will load exactly as they were designed to without interference from legacy code sitting in your browser cache. Your Settings The next thing to do is check your settings under your personal profile page. Some setting have been changed or reverted to default following the forum software upgrade. One thing you will notice is you may have lost your profile pic. This is because IPB has merged the 'Avatar' and 'profile pic' functions into one - meaning that if you had a profile pic uploaded but not an avatar it will have disappeared. Re-upload your personal image using the Avatar function. Then check your notification settings. Some users have reported the notification emails on watched topics aren't currently working. Go to My Settings > Notification Options and ensure that all the check boxes for your chosen notification methods are checked. We advise checking 'Auto follow topics I reply to' if you like to receive notifications of topics you are watching. To be absolutely sure, once you have reset your settings reply to a topic and check that it is working. Topic Viewing Some people have reported also that topics are linking to the top of every topic rather than to the last post you had viewed. It is always best to use the Last Post time and date link to go straight to new posts, however one of the reasons this may have changed is that The IPB software is now using updated JavaScript functions. Ensure that using the latest version of your browser as the new forum software is 'forward facing' and may be in advance of some older browsers capabilities. Posting and Text Editor The new WYSIWYG editor is great for quick and easy post editing on the fly. However for those that prefer the old school BBCode editing methods simply switch modes using the 'lightswitch' icon in the top left corner of your editing toolbar. This will give you a fully BBC functional entry box that will return to WYSIWYG when the switch is pressed again. You will now see your BbCode edits in final post mode. The previous 'Insert Link' function allowed both URL input along with hotline shortcut text. The current WYSIWYG editor only allows URL links like this: http://forum.whitear...?showtopic=9510 This is an issue at the base code of Invision's new upgrades. Switching to BBC mode will allow you to write a link shortcut code for your posts so you can have it appear like this. The BB code for this would look like this : url="http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=15566"]YOUR TEXT GOES HERE[/url Except you should be sure to put a square bracket "[" at the beginning and end of your code. I've left them off because otherwise the post will do exactly what I'm trying to demonstrate and just show you the shortcut! Attachments When posting pics it is always better to post your images to a hosting site like Flickr or Photobucket and provide an link in your post. Attachment uploads are limited to very small sizes to keep from bottlenecking the server and ensure a free flowing FISD (alliteration award - me ). You will find the photo link button in the editing tools and there are is a good post Mason wrote a little while back here. that covers the subject. OK - apologies for the lengthy post but here endeth the lesson. This should get most of you on the road to the smooth FISD experience we all know and love but feel free to PM me o post up any other undiscovered glitches you may stumble across. If I can help you make it work I will and if it's something that needs fixing - I'll fix it! Over and Out ZeroRoom (Lucas)
  25. Hi David, I had some return edge confusion of my own and started this thread here: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=15664&hl=return+edges&fromsearch=1 And Joe R put me on to these great LFL archive shots here: LFL archive photos They are a great resource for getting a sense of where to and and where not to do return edges. As everyone reminded me at the time though every OT suit was put together differently and in somewhat of a rush so there's definitely room for personal choice and most of all comfort. On another subject - this is a great build thread so far. I look forward to seeing the rest of it. keep up th stood work:D
