Well I know for the most part I am but....... My friends, many of them big Star Wars buffs, seem to have a small issue with me getting into this. I explain to them ever since I first saw the movie I have been fascinated with it, and mainly TK's. I always swore that one day I would build one, and now the time has come. Ive worked hard for everything in my life and now it is financially possible at "almost" 40" So now the name calling commences, this mainly takes place on my facebook as Im documenting my MTK build as well as my ATA helmet I just recently finished. Do I ignore it or question, maybe I am that " dork" or that "nerd" or that almost 40 year old guy with the mentality of a 13 year old. I dunno, it kinda bothers me, but it also makes me push forward with " not really caring what others think about what I am doing" My wife seems ok with it for the most part. Her late father was a Trekkie and a Star Wars fan. But what ruins it for me is that her Uncle Arthur, I guess when she and her cousins were younger had a Darth Vader kid and used to scare the crapola out of them. So now I get referred to on occasion as weird Uncle Arthur. I like to think of myself as a somewhat normal, semi professional guy. I work 50 plus a week, run a medium sized company, have 4 kids, 3 cats, 1 dog and a rabbit. I fish, hunt, shoot, surf, bike ride and HAVE to have a hobby or some sort due to my ADHD(not confirmed but self diagnosed) This is my hobby, and I enjoy it. I enjoy to comradery with you guys as well. Never have met a more helpful bunch of people, and for that I thank you. Thank you for letting me air out my pea brain as well.( just dont call me weird or a dork)

Well, as you can see below, at some point today I will be sharing a big brown box picture! Just put the finishing touches on my ATA helmet which Im not sure I will do with it, toher than my wife expressing interest in a fem trooper( fingers crossed!) I plan on jamming this thing out rather quickly, yet correctly. I will have a lot of time on my hands as I enter our slow season here at work. This should keep me busy! Yes I sure did and its sat dormant for a few days. A friend of mine is in the 501st as an ARF and a Clone. Im going to head to City Place Sunday to meet up with some of them and pick their buckets for some help, Ill let you know what I find out

I posted about getting an armor party going as Gazmosis doesn't have enough storage to receive all the PM's he's about to from me lol, I kid. I work in Boca and live in Lake Worth. black Rubatex insulation we use on cold pipes and what not. I have a ton of it if anyone needs it. Hot glue it, you can actually buil dit up and wedge your head in the bucket nicely with it.---------

What would it actually feel like to get shot with a blaster? Could you survive like you could a regular gunshot wound?

most of my co-workers have seen me fiddling around with my bucket. And Ive done most of the trimming here at work( guess its good to be the boss) so they know I didnt make it per say. Some of my smart a$$ friends on facebook however like to twist things and say " he didnt make that" I tell them, or try to that its like a model or any hobby, or a blank pallet to start with, you create what you want with it. Each helmet, armor, detail is different and thats what makes this fun.

those are Dave M decals from trooper bay, I hand painted and screwed up the tears. Im gonna most likely decal those as well but it will get me by for Halloween lol
