  1. TK 88118 requesting access thank you. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=17847
  2. That first cut into abs and then snapping it off - like crack.
  3. I'm still new to the trooping universe, but I have followed everything Star Wars since it came out in the late 70's. I personally enjoy the clone wars series and rebels too! I think it fits in with the target market of today. If Star Wars came out first as a cartoon like this, I would still love it just the same I reckon. I gather that we are talking about the life sized figure? Like the rest I wouldn't like to see people trooping I'm that armor, coz it does look too cute and whatever. But as something to have in my living room on display with the stand and plaque - HELL YEAH I WANT ONE!
  4. So I have a couple fans in my lid. Also got a voice changer/amp/mic. Everything works well but when I turn the fansw on - I can't hear anything. Is there a system that amplifies both your voice and also noise from outside the lid - In one system? Or do I have to install 2 systems to achieve what I'm after? Bit confused with the aker system everyone is using.....
  5. Yep that is the correct email. I got mine from Mark about 3 weeks ago and have just finished building it. I only rushed because I had a deadline. Please take advice from the rest of the troopers on here - take as much time as you can! Anyways, I will vouch for Marks service. He has been so easy to deal with and has answered all my questions even the silly ones. He might be really busy so give it a day or two before hassling him again. Im sure he will get back to you when he can. You're gonna enjoy this so much!
  6. Thanks! I was looking for someone to tell me just that!
  7. Im going to revive this and ask the same question. TO CUT OR NOT TO CUT?!?!?! I have an AP suit which I have just completed. Waiting for basic approval and obviously haven't trooped yet. Been fully suited up about 6 or 7 times now for about 30-40 mins at a time just walking around, climbing stairs etc. I guess I can move around enough, but I would love to be able to bend down...even a little. Wondering if its a 50/50 choice with most troopers, and also will it effect me in eventually gaining centurion status. Im 5'10" or thereabouts and around 170 pounds (77kgs). Any insight will be muchly appreciated! Cheers! Deep inside I really wanna do it, but I just wanna make sure I don't ruin it by doing so.
  8. Just finished my AP and I had massive issues with my sniper plate as well. Its outright crooked!
  9. Finally the gun is dry. Kinda. Ive actually done a bit more to it since like painting some of the screws and some slight weathering which I'm not sure made ay difference. Will post pics once Ive finished building my armour. But this is pretty much 99% done.
  10. Thanks!
  11. Tinkering tinkering... Managed to just get the coil in made from a coat hanger. The coils are not 100% straight but I don't think you will realise once painted. Dug around for something to hold stop the spring inside the barrel, and found some bmx brake part with a bolt. So I modified it a little. Not really to spec but I think it looks cool. Also found a grub screw at the bottom of my toolbox. Taking advantage of the nice day to lay down some primer. Now that I've got a couple coats on, I can see more blemishes from glue and moulding. Might give it another once over sanding when it dries and maybe a couple more coats of primer before I attempt to put some colour on it. Still waiting for a scope mount so I can't go too much further.
  12. Decided instead of filling the holes, I carved out the remaining bits, found an old MagLite that didn't work anymore...and used the barrel for part of the folding stock. Did a few other minor bits. Can't use the Dremel now cos its too late...so tomorrow a bit more cleaning up and hopefully first few coats of paint. Waiting on scope rail to arrive to attach the rest. Any ideas of how to find/make the correct sized spring?
  13. Ahhhh....ok. Thanks! Will fix before paint.
  14. Yeah that would be great! I think I need some excess ABS peices if you have them. I think my armor will be another week to 10 days away...so I'll have some time to get the blaster ready.
  15. I have an AP armour kit on the way along with all the other bits I need to complete a TK suit - except the boots. The first of the many boxes arrived early this morning - The blaster! Spent all morning figuring and marking out where all the parts went. Then to the Dremel and file kit to finish some details off the moulds. Drilled holes, cut out bits. A few more small parts to file and fit and I need to figure out what to do about the rail. The deeper I dug into modifying the gun, the more I realised that there is no realistic limit. So I opted to go with what I was able to do without too much talent seeing this is my first build of anything Star Wars related. (xept for LEGO). Gotta get the screw heads cut next to replace all the moulded ones - on the tip of the nozzle, ends of the scope. Couple on the handle. Maybe some screws for the swing arm if I can find the correct ones. Am I on the right track? Any advice would be great!
  16. Ive asked this before, but Ill ask again. Does anyone use 'Shoe Goo'...? From what I've been researching, E6000 dries to the same consistency and strength as Shoe Goo does. Like a silicone type hardness. And you can peel it off pretty cleanly depending on the surface once cured if necessary. Ive been trying all week all over Melbourne to find E6000, but no one seems to have heard of it. Im sure there is an easily obtainable substitute for Aussies....
