  1. Hey Chris, Sly or myself will be with you shortly. Regarding the thigh, I think if you just rotated them inward so that the cover strip is facing forward this would resolve some of the issue. Btw this won't hold you back from EIB.
  2. Hey Ryan, Sly or myself will be with your shortly
  3. Hey Sean, Sly or my self will be with your shortly
  4. Remove all the return edge from the yoke, the surface should be flat. Edit: When I say remove all the return edge I meant the flashing or excess sticking out from the return edge. I encourage you to wait until everything is assembled before doing any paint prep. Believe me, this will save you a lot of time. Looking good Rick
  5. Thanks for sharing Marc. I do somehow feel responsible for your discouragement and passing the armor off. Please forgive me if I had added in any way to the frustrations. Like many of us have learned here, not all armor are created equal. You have to feel good in your armor if not you move to the next. I'm hoping the the experience wasn't all a bad thing. As you already know I've been following the other thread in anticipation. I'm looking forward to watching you taken what you've learned and apply it there. On another note, your son is very fortunate to have a father that can see the positive in situation. One man's junk gift is another man's treasure.
  6. Those are some awesome boxes Allan
  7. Super glue or something like plastic welder. Whatever it is it's not too difficult to remove to screen.
  8. Preference. Brackets are screen accurate but snaps allow you to break down your armor better for transportation and storage. Both are accepted at all levels of approval. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  9. Hey Chris welcome brother and Congratulations!
  10. Figured it out, I had two web addresses in one hyper link, weird. This should be better http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32755-interest-check-ukswraths-tk-radio-chatter-audio-system/
  11. That's weird because when I click on it it takes me to my interest thread hahahaha
  12. Some of us were talking about radio chatter audio systems. The link (though now an archive) was a interest thread I'd posted last year for a TK, TD, TB chatter audio system that can be installed in the radio on the backpack..
  13. My pleasure. I personally didn't have to, the area in question is of adequate thickness. You can either reinforce the area with modeling putty as Kai is suggesting or glue some scrap abs to the inside of the helmet prior to installing the new Hovis.
  14. Option #1 Helmet replacement Option #2 (while you wait for helmet replacement) Do nothing or .... Plastic welder, ABS strips and white caulking. Any novice can do it. You're dealing with fiberglass here so unless you want to deal with that mess a quick solution is to buy a tube of Devcon Plastic Welder. Mix and generously apply the plastic welder to the helmet on each side of the crack, Using some thick but flexible ABS plastic (cover strip material works great) cover the crack extending 1" on each side. Clamp and let set. Plastic welder will bond plastic, steel and fiber glass pretty well. If mixed correctly the glue is fully cured in about 1 hour. Note: Test it on spare pieces of ABS before applying it to your helmet to check cure times. After it's dried fill the crack with white paintable caulking. Let dry and paint if desired.
  15. Well here's my interest thread. If enough people chime in here maybe I'll put something together. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32755-interest-check-ukswraths-tk-radio-chatter-audio-system/
  16. I understand, if it's any consolation I'm always on the hunt for smaller amps but to be truthful at the moment my amp is one of only a handful available with a rechargeable built in battery and the only one I'm aware of with a AUX in port. Is it the only option available? no. Here on the FISD we have many talented hobbyists coming up with excellent ideas every day. It's only going to get better Thanks for the kudos Aaron
  17. Both are equally sturdy yes. IMO, thighs and forearms. They're the shortest so easier to handle during assembly.
  18. Advantages - Screen accurate Disadvantages - Can be a chore to assemble and disassemble
  19. Yea I contacted him around the first of the year looking to get these in black, which he doesn't make. After many plastic mfg contacts I've concluded this particular material is only manufactured in clear, which again leaves me buying them from Echo. I have no problem doing so, he's got a good thing going I just wish it was more consistent. As you mentioned Jason a laser cutter would be nice to have and make my own, but it is what it is at the moment.
  20. Hey David these appear to be correct. As you trim try to align the halves a parallel as possible. It doesn't have to be perfect, just close.
  21. With these hooks in particular being their machine sewn I didn't have any issues. I've also made a few using traditional bra hooks and had to add stitch glue them after a couple came loose. My hand sewing skills suck.
  22. Thanks, different strokes for different folks
