  1. I'm pretty sure you only need like 10-12 posts but who's counting lol
  2. If you use a little paint thinner and ear or hobby swab you can get the overspray off without much harm to the teeth. This same technique can be used to clean the ab buttons as well, and btw it took me quite a few mess ups before I was able to paint decently, you'll notice I don't say perfectly lol
  3. As for the helmet, if your goal is build the armor as accurately as possible may I make a few comments and suggestions. Starting with the ear gap, some is normal, as seen in the following reference picture of a screen used helmet. Some eye flashing, also normal but we generally like to see less. As for suggestions, Remove all overspray on the frown gum line and finish off the ends depending on which trooper you'll be emulating. The ear screws should be "V" head, not the Anovos supplied pan head. And lastly, the hovi tip screens, they should be closer to a coarse weave. Hope this helps a bit. Cheers
  4. Hey Tom looking good brother, if I may throw my two cents into the hat here. Regarding this statement "I never knew that you just build the entire kit as directed FIRST, then worry about fit". This is not necessarily true. The armor can be trimmed to fit a variety of shapes and sized bodies. Trimming and fitting sections correctly along the way actually simplifies the whole process and eliminates possibly having to redo a section. There are many build threads, not just Anovos that talk about this approach. I would encourage you to take a look at other build threads if you haven't done so already. As for the asymmetrical look, this is normal, it's the design of the armor. Keep up the great work.
  5. Hey Tom welcome to the FISD. You're in good hands here. Let us know if there's anything we can do for you.
  6. Hey Ryan, thank you for your EIB application, let's get to it. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All submission photos are present. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Sly and myself would like to congratulate you on a job well done. Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by us or your fellow troopers. The suggestions are to either enhance your already spectacular build, and/or prepare you for your Centurion application. None of the following suggestions will effect your EIB application. We are happy to say, with the exception of maybe cleaning up the paint outlining the ab buttons as Andy mentioned, and on the helmet Vcoder, there's not much to say here. Reference picture Centurion Suggestions: We do our best to try and find anything that will affect a Centurion application. At this time we have no further suggestions. This is a very clean build Ryan, you've made our job very easy here, thank you . Hope to see you at Centurion
  7. No worries Tomas that's what were here for.
  8. Hey Tomas, if you're interested in accuracy remove 1/4" off the tube however, if you don't care then I don't worry about it.
  9. Hey Walt we also need a exterior picture of the posterior rivets and could you list the blaster type at he top of the page. EDIT: We also need a action shot picture Thanks brother
  10. Hey Hunter, at the top of the page please state your name, legion ID and forum name, thank you
  11. Happy Big 10 :happy and cheerful birthday: . A big thank you to you Paul and the founding members. Without this website I would have undoubtedly passed on becoming a trooper. The information, skill level and guidance of fellow troopers are the reason I do what I do today. It's been a joy and pleasure to serve and be served here. Thank you
  12. A picture is worth a thousand words
  13. PPG is recommended over the rest according a body shop tech friend of mine. No mixing, easy to work with and dependable. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  14. Any Flexible areas or pin holes that need to be covered or built up. 1/8" maximum thickness is highly suggested due to possible cracking. In high humidity or colder climates allow for longer cure times. The polyflex is a two part mix. PPG or 3M requires no mixing so is recommended over the polyflex. Hope this helps
  15. Yea pretty much the same setup as mine
  16. Looking great. Sorry about above I was following Walters also lol

  19. That could be a flat black, yes
  20. Some Vcoders are flat ,some are semi gloss, others are gloss. Acrylic paint will work fine for any of these. Hope this helps
