  1. A return edge is the part of the armour that curves over at the edge. Sometimes return edges are good, because they give thin plastic the appearance of thickness and weight. At the front of the forearm there should be no return edge. So if you're looking at it from the front (wrist pointed at you), it should be completely open. Here is a picture of mine . . . Hope that helps!
  2. I'm a thigh man (that came out sounding weird, but I'm just gonna leave it). I don't like when there are huge gaps, and I don't like when people don't trim them, and they look like church bells. That leads to the sniper plate being caught underneath (invariably in every picture!) and to dropboxes getting caught in the top. We all have our pet peeve areas. I know your eye helped me greatly on my build! You are, of course, right about the elbows as well. That's what Tony (another great eye!) was also talking about. You've got some serious heavies taking care of you Jaydon. Listen to these two guys and you'll look great!
  3. Sorry Germain, let me clarify. I don't think it's cod to thighs on the inside. It's at the top. Like thighs to ab/belt, if you will. Which I believe he understood, given he is raising the thighs. Sorry if there was any misunderstanding there. His thighs are low.
  4. This was not the first year the Canadian Garrison was represented at the annual Grape and Wine Parade in St. Catherines, but it was a first for me! What a blast! Upwards of 100,000 in attendance, lining the streets of St. Catherines, Ontario (in the Niagara Region), and all there to see US! Okay well maybe not just us, but since the thing moved, we were really all I saw . . . and we looked good!
  5. Great improvement! I agree with Tony on those other gaps. The thigh to cod ones especially. Not just for aesthetics though. If you can actually get that inner curve of your thighs cut a little lower, and pull them up an inch or two, you'll both shorten the gap between the thighs and cod, and open up the space between your thighs and your calves, making it easier to walk (and get up stairs). Not a lot. Just an inch or so and you'd be a lot more comfy, and look better. Unless, of course, you can actually pull them higher right now, without cutting. Again, I also recommend you try on a snugger under suit. Trust me, it'll look really good, and it'll feel better too
  6. I'm sorry Joshua, but I don't understand your question. If you are asking if THIS is the FISD Centurion Program section, no, it is not. This is a newsletter located in the Announcements section. The Centurion Program is located here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/66-fisd-centurion-program/ If you are asking if Clint's TFA build thread is located in the Centurion Program area, no, it is not. It is located in an area of this forum that is restricted to members of the 501st, and has nothing to do with the Centurion Program. If you are a member of the 501st, and wish to gain access to those areas on the forum, you can request that access here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/16-501st-trooper-status-requests-include-link-to-your-501st-profile-in-your-request/ I hope that clarifies things for you.
  7. As Tim mentioned, you cannot access it, because the build has been moved to the Legion Members Only section for the time being.
  8. Looks good. Definitely have a look at that left side gap. It's weird because your right side practically overlaps, so you can definitely close that up. Try using webbing instead of elastics to close that side, maybe. It should keep it pulled in tight. Also, your undersuit is a little baggy in places. You might want to consider a smaller size. Otherwise, looks really good. Nice job!!
  9. Congrats Bradley!!! I knew you were a shoe-in as I was watching your build. Awesome!!! Centurion next!!
  10. Hi troopers! I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. As you may have noticed, I am relatively new to the Legion, but please donā€™t let that distress you. I still clearly remember how hard it was starting out, but I also care deeply for my sisters and brothers in the Legion. Trust me when I say, I am quite passionate about this detachment in particular. Just like most of you, I have spent most of my life wanting to wear the armour, wanting to be a stormtrooper. Finally being accepted into the Legion truly was, one of my greatest days. I expected that to be the height of the experience, but I was wrong. As I got to know other members, I cannot describe how much more there was to love. We truly are a family, unlike any other organization I have ever been a part of. Iā€™m gushing, but if youā€™re already a member you know what Iā€™m talking about, and if youā€™re not . . . work to make it happen. Work hard! Itā€™s worth it. Like you, I am a stormtrooper. When I see other stormtroopers in the media, raising money for charity, ā€œdoing goodā€, just being cheeky, or making a childā€™s wish come true, it warms my heart. Not just to see the good, but to have been a part of it, because I am a stormtrooper. I am *a* stromtrooper. What one of us does, reflects on all of us, and we do some pretty awesome stuff. I donā€™t want to get too sentimental here, but I want you to understand my reasons for caring about the FISD and why you should believe I want to make it the best detachment it can be, for all of us. You are a stormtrooper, or you plan to be one, and this is your home. Hopefully you feel as I do, so we can do this together. If you want to talk to me, please PM me. I donā€™t know what response to expect, so hopefully I wonā€™t be overwhelmed. I will do my best to get back to you in a timely manner. If you have an idea, or a concern, PM me. I want to help, and I want to make your experience here better. Iā€™m a trooper who wants to help troopers. This should be fun, not frustrating. You leave your ordinary lives and come here for fun, and to do good. Please donā€™t ever walk away having experienced bad. Before you leave, give me a chance, and let me know. I, and many others, want the opportunity to fix that for you. To say this detachment is large, is an understatement, and itā€™s getting larger every day. I have no concrete metric to point to, but I believe Star Wars fandom is at an all-time high. Letā€™s give the fans what they want, and be the stormtroopers they canā€™t wait to meet., for The Empire! (and fun . . . always in the name of fun!) Wow, that may be the longest Iā€™ve ever gone without making a totally inappropriate joke. Live long and prosper. Danny
  11. I didn't get a chance to read it all until now. How awesome was that? Great effort from so many people! I'm talking about both the subject matter and the work put into the newsletter itself. Thanks for putting this together!
  12. Awesome Joseph, and let me just say (as I was completely derelict in my other post) that this list is amazing. I only wish I had this available to me when I started my build. Great job!
  13. There is some debate between French Blue and Mediterranean Blue (Humbrol #48) for the tube stripes. French Blue, however, seems to be the consensus for the ab plate buttons. I think it might be best for you to list both and let people decide. Your list could be taken as objectively definitive, when some things are subjective choices. It is often suggested that neither colour is the original/quite right. Here's a Billhag image that appears to be newer than the one most often referenced. I used the Mediterranean Blue on my tube stripes, but it's definitely a personal choice. I just wanted to point this out, as it might save some newer recruits the confusion I suffered, when trying to decide.
  14. I get asked why I'm so serious a lot. Also, good answer to "Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?" is (if they're a guy), "Aren't you a little hairy to be a princess?"
  15. You look great, and believe it or not, even better in person! Good luck, not that you need it. Watching patiently for a new, Canadian Garrison, Centurion brother!
  16. Easy pass! I'd wish you good luck, but you don't need it. Looking great!
  17. Congratulations!!! I'm not sure if I told you, but it looks awesome and I'm super psyched to troop with you!
  18. Have you considered using elastic instead of masking tape? Just a thought.
  19. 10mm for the Chicago screws. Tony, what do you mean by, "the liner strapping should rest just above the top of the helmet"? I'm not sure I follow. Then again, I'm not doing it, but I thought it might be a typo and need clarifying for anyone following those instructions.
  20. Thanks! I'm not sure. I can measure later, but given where they're sitting and relative to the strap size, I'd say 8-10mm. Let me measure though. That said, I don't believe there is a strict rule on their size. Just type of fastener.
