  1. I think it's the angle of the photo Greg. The posterior plate is sitting so the curve pushes out, not in. Looking awesome Phil. Keep going man, you've got the momentum now!! One thing, are you going to use the rivets to attach the snaps to the kidney and ab, or glue in snap plates between them? If between them, dont forget where the notch goes on the kidney. I have a snap there, below the rivet, that'll end up cut out. So I recommend either gluing the snap plates directly over the rivets, or behind them, or maybe all between and the bottom one behind or over. Hope I'm making sense!
  2. Yes, I did save ABS, but it may also be a bit of an elastic issue. They seem to have gotten a little looser after trooping in Niagara. It's under 1/2", I measured, but it was even less before. I may make some super short ones this week and see where I end up. It's not my stomach, as much as my ribs.
  3. Just going over the CRLs again, and noticed that a couple things are missing from my pictures/check list . . . Snaps On Posterior Sniper Plate Alignment Rounded Riveted Ammo Pack Gloves (and Hand Plates) are rubber Hope I didn't forget anything. Thanks for all the support guys!!!!
  4. Oh, this picture is misleading. That's actually a 2:1 scale sculpture of a TK I'm standing beside.

  6. Long weekend in Niagara Greg. There has been talk of me taking my pics today/night. I guess I better get on it . . . . thought I might rest on these here laurels for a while, but I'm just being lazy. TO EIB AND BEYOND!!
  7. I'm almost positive they're the new Disney E-11 blasters with the stun setting, painted white. They were used at Celebration I think, just for fun.
  8. The average height goes up all the time. When I was a kid my height was average, by high school I was 2" under the average, and now I'm like 4" under the average. I figure by 30 ABY this is about right, hehehe
  9. Hi guys, just wanted to share a quick pic from my first troop! Niagara Falls Comicon. I'm the TK on the right (not the Episode 7 trooper, haha).
  10. Where am I going to find a giant elastic to roll my butt plate and hold it there overnight so it fits me better. (Looks down at gimpy knee) Aha!!
  11. Thanks Greg!! Your eye is incredible. Yes, the elastic slipped off that shoulder!!! I am in the process of tightening them up. I am gonna see if I can suck it in a little to get those two sides together. Maybe I can make even tighter elastics. I can still breathe as is . . . means I can make it tighter, hahaha
  12. I know, you need sound. I'm talking to her. That's Goji (Gojira). She has no respect at all.
  13. Another update! I put some velcro on the back of my boots to stop scuffing and in the front of my boots and the front of my shins to stop rotation . . . Then I decided to reinforce the sniper plate as I was told by Clamps (who I have met, and find simply delightful) that it takes quite a beating. I decided to try something a little different. Instead of reinforcing it with more ABS or silicone or fibreglass, I used E6000. This should give it some flexibility, strength, and satisfies my fetish for the stuff. We'll see if it works at all . . . I don't know if I mentioned it before, but my aker and iComm do NOT fit in my chest, so taking some advice from a few Clone Troopers, I stuck it in my back plate. First I taped it in with good old Canadian hockey tape (available at your local Canadian Tire store) to make sure it would sit okay. It seems all right so then I put in velcro. So then I put on my chest and back assembly and I tested it . . . https://youtu.be/cVhYfJv5JEs I ordered a throat mic, which should work a little better. Dog doesn't even respect my authorita . . . TK voice needs work!!
  14. I just realized I didn't post the measurement guide I used for my holster placement. This is a guide from Bill Hag again (thanks Bill!). One thing to note, and which I almost screwed up. If you look on the right where it shows 2.5 cm, it is from the edge of the canvas belt to the centre of the lower Chicago screw, not the gap from belt to holster. The gap from belt to holster is 1.5cm and the space from edge of holster to middle of Chicago screw is 1cm, I BELIEVE. I cannot say for sure, but that's how I did it, and everything appears to be in proportion. I in no way can say for sure, but it appears that is where the arrow is pointing and it just looks right (see my holster pics above). I should also state that there is no "official" distance that I know of, so this is just a guide, so one way or the other is not WRONG, I don't believe. Maybe some veterans can weigh in on this. I just wanted to make sure I included his excellent visual guide for you to put away for when the time comes.
  15. Funny you should ask, those are already SUPER tight, hehehe BUT, that is me pretty relaxed. If I stand straight and suck it in a little, I can get almost to touch. It can almost definitely get under the requisite 1/2 inch, I hope. Believe it or not, it's not so much my belly, as it is my rib cage. Thanks for the compliments on the the build and thread, and all the encouragement all the way through. You guys have really made posting worth my while, and hopefully others will benefit from it!
  16. Okay folks, not my last post, but one with a big finisher! First, I have pics of my belt system, with the velcro in, and nicely cleaned up . . . Next, here are some pics of my battery pack attached. I made a mistake here that I plan to correct at some point. I should have used a washer under the split rivets (they also still need to be painted) . . . As you can see I put some velcro in there in case I decide I want the battery pack shifted higher or lower. It was as easy to do as glue, but more versatile. Then it was time for another armour party!! (Don't you wish you lived in Toronto?) Okay, back to work. I attached my new holster. A couple points here. I have a piece of ABS in my canvas belt, and it's two pieces of canvas thick, with two pieces of elastic as well. So that part of my belt is thick. The holster came with Chicago screws, which are fairly shallow. I got them through, but t was hard. I had to really lean into it. The reason I used the Chicago screws instead of snaps and rivets, is because my blaster is resin and quite heavy. I didn't want to crouch down and stand up and have it unsnap. I may change my mind, but for now the Chicago screws are good. I used an awl to punch through all the layers and then as a guide to pull the Chicago screw through. DO NOT try to drill a hole because drilling and fabric do not mix . . . Next I put velcro strips on my calves. So . . . I have a lot of tweaking to do buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut . . . So, any comments, critiques, suggestion, will be greatly appreciated! There will be MANY follow up pictures as I trim my legs some more, clean up the paint on my helmet, alter my neck seal, reinforce my sniper plate, make some alterations so my shoulders don't roll forward, put velcro on the boots to keep the shins from rotating . . . the list will be long, and I plan to post it all so others can learn. Also, I'm not sure there is a single picture of ME on this thread yet, so HI GUYS!!!
  17. You take that back! The man is a genius. A handsome genius!!
  18. Another quick update. Left my biceps in a couple of pump clamps overnight and seems to have worked pretty well. Might try again to get them even rounder, but the de-ovalling seems to be well on its way . . . Next I attempted my sniper plate . . . the AP sniper plate is EVIL. There is no two ways about it. It will go on crooked, it will go on leaning back or forward, depending what you do. I was told by my XO that lining up the ridges is far more important than the angle of the front. So I clamped the front and fought with it, and E6000 and fought and E6000 and fought, and then left it. I will upload cleaned up pictures tomorrow. So cringe at these for now . . . I also trimmed my thigh fronts. I did not trim them down (following everyone's advice), but I did trim them so they were even to each other. They looked terrible before I did. They have since been sanded, but I don't have pics of that yet . . . That's it for now. Nice finished sanded pics of the thighs and clean sniper plate in a little while!
  19. And if you do accidentally scratch or even gouge something, you can get yourself some Novus plastic polish. Lots of threads on it here, but I may post something when I'm done and use it for clean up.
  20. My recommendation on cutting strips is this . . . follow my instructions earlier in the thread, use a cutting mat, tape down a ruler, and use vices. I used up to 4 of them. Snap off/replace your blade often. Then, cut some 15mm (maybe aim for 16mm as you can sand them down a little after). If you don't like them, don't sweat it, you can use it as an inside strip. If you need 4 outside and 4 inside, cut 8, pick your favourite 4 for the outside, and the less good ones for the inside. With a little clean up and your choice of the best 50% of cuts, it's a lot less stressful.
  21. Thanks Greg! The thighs are the biggest bulkiest, most ill-fitting piece of the whole kit, with the most exposed seam and greatest mobility problems. I don't have a solution to that laundry list of thigh considerations . . . but I just thought I'd lay that out there, hahaha
