1. I had found some awesome 1/2" elastic for shoulder straps... I picked up some 1" in case... The 1" seems a bit wide though... Both found at Walmart... I'm not sure about strapping the forearms to biceps... Prefer to let those float free, as I sometimes remove them in the break room, along with gloves.
2. You can also use Velcro so it's not a permanent fix to strap to chest armour.... This way you can modify it a little... Or measure where you want the shoulder bridges and mark in pencil the bottoms, so you know where to fix them to. Velcro may help with fitting or adjustments though too...
3. All looking awesome! Doubt the snaps will be much of an issue... In that location I use one snap on each end.. And it holds just fine, not sure why the double snap...
4. From what I can see, I don't think mobility will be an issue, if it is, then I suggest doing the above.... All looks awesome! Great progress!
5. When I got my TK boots, the work in period wasn't necessary. I'm quite happy with the purchase, and quality of the boots. I've had mine for almost 4 or 5 yrs now, trooping for a lot of hrs... One troop was 6 or 7 hrs, no issues with sore feet, but won't be doing that again lol other issues like no sitting, became a problem... At 4 hrs per troop, there's no issues at all, which I'm quite thankful. Keep in mind, these are not worn every day, just for a few hrs while trooping, which is on a voluntary basis, so could be as often once or more times per week, or as few as twice a year...
6. I have TKBoots... Never needed extra soles in mine, but then again, whatever makes you feel more comfortable.
7. Sounds like you should be using the same know how on this build...
8. Will have to check into this...
9. Where does one purchase the little white elastics that go over the shoulder bridge to hold the back of them in place (close the shoulder straps)?
10. Be thankful you don't own a dremel lol
11. With models I've painted before assembly... Especially parts that are not easily reached... I'm afraid you'll probably have to take it apart... As for weathering, the technique I had been recommended was primer, then coat of silver or gun metal, then ochre yellow or something that looks rusty, then coat of black or two coats... Using a 1500 grit sandpaper sand down gently until you like the pattern of the weathered look... Don't go through the he metal paint,as the next layer is primer... This will give you the weathered look with rust.
12. Not sure you'd want to do that... It may mess them up... If you really don't like the way they look, procure some new ones. Better than messing these ones up ...
13. Didn't notice, and not sure others will either...
14. Not sure what you're meaning here...
15. My helmet stand is a black PVC tube, and a plastic stepped cone, with a hole drilled big enough to fit the tube... Plastic square piece glued to top of piping....
16. Many events, and the 501st will still be here...
17. Older than me, I don't remember Punky either.... Lmao
18. Why do you think he's on vacation no... For fun? He's in detox for E6000 addiction lol
19. I'm quite aware of it not being a 501st event, but still doesn't mean people can't show up in armour lol
20. At 300 Euro for a 19 the price is a little steep... May have to put some $$$ aside little by little for this lol

Thnx for the update!
21. All is looking well... You can shorten and lengthen the strapping as required... There's a picture around on where to place snap plates. I saved it, but not sure how to post pictures from iPad...
22. What about using three layers for elastic? I've seen a few troopers in my Garrison with this, and figured it was canvas type of material... I wanted to clarify before doing anything, always best to check.
23. Didn't know where else to post this...

I was wondering if there was a difference in Centurion strapping between chest and back plates from stunt.. It says white canvas, but I recall seeing a screen cap of Luke bending over Han, and his shoulder strapping wasn't visible (black? Edited?) ...

Any help would be appreciated.
Thnx in advance!
24. It's just that in the past up to now, that it's been common practice to shim the kidney plate, and not the ab.. Personally, I don't see the difference... But it's up the powers that be to decide.
25. For flight suit, check your local Army Surplus store... You may need to travel a bit for this... Check Amazon.ca as well for other items like boots, or can look at local listings in Kijiji, or craigslist or if you know of a riding outfitter, they may know where to get used ones...
