  1. Haha just be careful you don't pull an Emerson Fittipaldi with that throat mic.
  2. I'm mad at Filoni for doing what he did. But I'm also piqued. What will the helmet look like once it's done? I'm certainly interested in getting my hands on one.
  3. I think I'll do what you guys suggested:keep it simple for now.The reality is that it'll be hard to keep up with my desire to own a troopable lid from each type. Frankly, as I already have a taste for fast cars (own a Chrysler 300C and a Pontiac GTO at 23) I'm very strapped on the budget. I have a Javamonkey clone phase 2 I'll be trading away soon, hopefully for a clone I can actually wear haha.
  4. Well that's the kicker. I'm a fan of the animated series (I think that it was really well-written) and I think that Kevin over on the clone forums does a fantastic job on his sets. I want a lid from him for sure. I was in love with the animated shock trooper he did. He's really good, so I don't want to NOT have an animated in the set. Maybe a second shelf?
  5. Hey guys, one of the things that truly captivated me about stormtroopers was...the helmet! As I pursue my dream of donning a set of armor and trooping (no lie, it's a dream for me, one I'm working my tail off to make a reality) I was thinking about creating a "helmet shelf" that is, a shelf where I showcase the evolution of the helmets over the generations. My question, where to start? Is the RMQ THE first, or are the clones? Should I include the animated clones, or not? I'm not doing specialized (I. E. sandtroopers, bikers, etc) though I want those helmets, but I'm looking at the basic grunts. What should my tree look like?
  6. If you have a bucket comparison shot that would be dope.
  7. Also, don't be afraid to check out the Clone forums, as you might be able to get some TK advice there too.
  8. Welcome aboard. I myself just put a deposit in on a few helmets from AP. My suggestions: 1. Read. A LOT. These threads (most anyway) are open, so ask questions! Even though I myself don't have hands on an actual TK anything, (I have a clone helmet, that's it) I'm confident in knowing where to go. 2. Send emails! There's a vetted list of people. Send out some emails, talk to vendors, see what's out there. Some vendors offer a fully-built kit, some offer a "DIY kit". Look in the commissary section. I know a few blokes offer armor for sale there. Do some negotiating. EMAIL THEM! Hope this helps!
  9. Very nice work.
  10. Agreed. I doubt everything now. Which may be a good thing...or a bad one. Idk yet.
  11. That's interesting. If I found a cheap FX, I'd buy it for display, but not trooping. I'm thinking about having a shelf of buckets.
  12. Does anyone sell FX buckets?
  13. What are the risks to painting? Will it flake off on ABS? Will I have to sand the helmet to create a rough surface for the paint to stick to? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I got ahold of him and he'll have some done soon. I'll probably order several. How good are the B's? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Oh wow. That helmet is nasty. I've seen some guys trooping it before on twitter. It's ugly as hell. Was it before better was made? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. It was the one on the right. Any more pics? It looks horrible, but what about it makes it so bad specifically? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Hey guys, I've seen some pics of this helmet, and it bugs me, but I want more info on it. It looks too square, ugly. I stole and cropped the picture to focus on this helmet specifically. What's the story of this one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Some company is working on it. They're doing better than that one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. By the way, this isn't a "help me get armor" thread, but I'd like some opinions regarding this project.
  20. Hi guys, I was wondering if I could get some advice on something. I'm looking for a pair TK helmets, unpainted, but trimmed out. I know of AP, but the helmet doesn't need to be 501st approved. Ideally I'd like the basic work done, as far as the lenses installed, and frown punched out. Who or what is the best way to get this? It's for a little project I'm working on.
  21. Good stuff! I'm going to be ordering my bucket from them here in a few days. Armor soon after.
  22. No! This isn't Tron!
  23. Oh I see. So he makes it look different enough that it's noticeable, but not enough that it looks out of place. Sly move.
  24. Too sleek too. Looks too "clean"
  25. Not too fond. The frown isn't distinct enough.
