  1. I think science hasn't gone far enough. When will these be Legion approved?
  2. Cool. I was just curious like arnie_DK said earlier troopers in ANH tend to switch hands but there are a few action sequences where there are multiple troopers firing left handed.
  3. Wanted to see how many troopers out there troop in the "screen accurate" style of carrying your blaster in your left hand, or do you do want comes naturally and go right handed? Or was everyone in Britain left handed during the 70's? Or stormtroopers in general for that matter.
  4. I have a couple Kenner toys still in their box. I also have the Tantive IV with lights and sounds. I'm so mad because I never went back for the Star Destroyer that came out at the same time. I also have the Death Star play set that came out in the 90's.
  5. Hey I've got my own AM build starting up but I've run into a snag. One is I too got the double left shin but the problem w a s resolved with troopergear. My other problem is that I am having trouble attaching the left ear. It looks like it might be too short and when I get the two top screws in the bottom won't line up with the rest of the helmet. Any tips?
  6. I'll be next to you. The one Chewie tosses over the side.
  7. Thank you almost ready to start my build. Just waiting for my magnets and lexan scissors.
  8. Any ideas on how best to glue the hand plates to the elastic straps? E6000?
  9. Cool thanks everyone I have all my questions answered. gotta love the FISD, an endless pool of knowledge!
  10. And as far as hand guards go, is it acceptable if i glue them to an elastic strap I wear around my hand instead of directly to my gloves? It would make for easier replacement of gloves. I am aware of the latex hand guards being glued to the Chem gloves but what about this method?
  11. So Daetrin would I still be able to achieve basic/EIB approval with a black pair of these?
  12. Cool thanks for the input!
  13. The link shows them as a grey green color but they're offered in black as well.
  14. Found these gloves on amazon for under $30 and i just wanted to double check if they're legion approved. They're Nomex and they're all black and I've heard they're preferred over the Chem gloves. I'm shooting for EIB approval and if these are good to go I would be very pleased. Help me out here FISD! 15. Here's my back story. I will add a TK number once I'm legion approved: I was born and raised in the shadow of one of the busiest Imperial space ports on Corellia. Everyday the same trooper would pass me by on his patrol and share some of his rations with me since I had no food or family to speak of.he called me Little Brother since he too was from Corellia. He would sit with me and tell me stories of the battles and far off worlds he visited. He even went as far as to make me an armband with a little Imperial Cog printed on it. 10 minutes later, the Rebels attacked. They had been watching the Imperial shipments cone and go and had finally decided to make their move. Somehow during all the blaster fire and smoke flying around, I was knocked off my feet by a blast only to find a Rebel insurgent standing over me. Seeing the armband on me he mistook me for an Imperial and raised his blaster to my head. Shutting my eyes I prepared for the worst. I heard the blaster shot, but opened my eyes to see the Rebel dead in the street. It was my "Big Brother". He had left his post to come ensure my safety. Grabbing me by the hand he led me into a cantina that had been abandoned as soon as the fighting started. He told me to stay down as he picked off Rebels and kept them from over running our position. Then we heard a window break and a thermal detonator landed half a meter away. Quickly he scooped me up and threw me behind the bar. Removing his helmet he covered the grenade and then threw his body on it. The blast was deafening and the whole building shook. When I looked over the bar, there was nothing left but a small crater and scorch marks. This trooper, who was supposed to be a faceless menace, gave his life for me. A child he hardly knew. I never knew his name, whether he had a family, or even what he looked like. All I had was a serial number. A number I carry on to this day. As a Stormtrooper in the 501st Legion. And if my Big Brother could see me know, I know he would be proud.
  16. Wondering if this was just another drill.
  17. Watching the new trailer for Star Wars Rebels and I realized that some of the characters look like they've been lifted directly out of Ralph McQuarrie's sketches. Chiefly the wookiee looking character is drawn from the chewie concept and the C-3PO concept is actually standing next to him. Not to mention those troopers with the open and closing helmets. Pretty exciting if you ask me!
  18. Thanks! I always wondered about how everything stood in place.
  19. Fresh faced punk here waiting for my armor to come in but I have a noob question, how do you keep every bit of armor from falling off? Specifically the Cod piece? What keeps the thighs and shins in place? What about the the bicep and a and kidney plates? This is probably the most overwhelming part of the outfit for me (besides actually building the thing!) Any help is greatly appreciated.
  20. Can't wait I am placing my order soon! Going with AM since I am 6'1 290 lbs and dropping!!!!
  21. Just a small update. I've been smoke free about a month since I've started using a vaporizer with the smallest amount of nicotine. It helped when I really had a craving and now I need it less and less. Starting jogging and found a cool 3.5 mile route that forces me to go all the way around. No significant weight loss yet buts it's coming along nicely.
  22. This thread makes me want my armor all the more! I'm already selling guitars to pay for it. I'm about ready to start selling body fluids LOL. Good job on the build! Very informative.
  23. Ha ha sorry! I meant to direct that at Alan.
  24. Hey Eric I'm in the same banana boat as you. I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to find armor that would fit me. But after speaking with my squad leader he pointed me in the right direction with AM. And if you feel like maybe you would like to shed a few extra pounds, check out the trooper fit club thread. Everyone there is very supportive and happy to give advice. Good luck on your purchase.
  25. The news report said it happened while Harrison was filming an "action sequence". Yeah, I would qualify that as "bringing it".
