  1. If you have a Jo-anns or Michaels, they usually have 40-50% off coupons in their adds or on retailmenot.com   I went there for the e-6000, Heavy Duty Velcro, foam cushon for inside helmet, super glue, etc.  Also, theres Harbor Freight for cheap equipment and always have lots of discount coupons, however keep your recept because some of their stuff is..cheap, but they always let you return them with recept.

  2. On top of what everyone has been saying, for the chest plate, you can heat bend the side wings to make them more form fitting.

Also, you need to switch sides on the forearms (correct me if i'm wrong).

A good build you can check out is Fuumantroop's, he trimmed down a lot of his armor pieces to better fit his form (looks like he might be your height).

This link is where he started working on his ab buttons, I myself went the screw on buttons:

He's a really cool guy, feel free to pm him or myself if you want more help on your armor.

I like the new back plate!  :duim:

  3. I wasn't fortunate enough to see much builds with my armor type,  but what you can try doing is looking peoples armor submissions then see if they have a link to their build.

Here is one (it was the first ATA I seen and he has a link to his build):

Also, you can post pictures of where you are at so far and ask to see if that is good enough.  I myself and im sure 90% of the members were super scared to make the cut,  you can even look at my build (AM) and see that I posted that I was too scared to touch the awesome shiny parts.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Ok, I decided to re-adjust my top half, especially if i'm going to be trooping.  one of the things that would bother me is the neckpart rubbing against my throat. the left and right top flaps (technical term)  curve and sit comfortly on my shoulder but looks like I need to trim down the neckline.  I talked to Fuumantroop a while ago when building my armor but finally taking that step.

I'm going to heat bend the ridge thingy a little more, also.  Nice work.

  5. Have you tried getting the sound amplifiers (or whatever their called)?  the fans will help with the fogging up, from what I hear, it also helps to leave a gap on the visors to let air come in throught there as well.  Also, do you have padding at the top? maybe its too much padding leaving your eyes towards the bottom of the visors.

I start my first troop next month and my main worry is my helmet (AM), I've been moving everything around. my main problem was the battery packs, I had them attached on the back making the front of the helmet slide up. So far I've positioned im on the sides and installed a chin strap.
