  1. Kudos to Army Scout!
  2. It is official - the TrooperMaster is in the house!
  3. That's definately better than the Walmart bin most people have. ----------- It's only $25 or so, but the downsides I've found on these are: 1) There is handle on the side to pull it with, so you need to rig something 2) I've found the lid pops off way too easy, and doesn't stay secure while traveling My other bin is this Rubbermaid I got at Fred Meyer ------- I like it because it's easy to pull along (hey, sometimes the changing area is a few blocks from the car) and the lid stays secure, but there is less room than the Walmart special. I can get all my kit in but it's there's not much room room left over. My wife thinks I got the Caravan for haulding kids, but it's really because I can stuff three bins, two sandtrooper packs, three BFGs, Jedi kit, and two fellow troopers. The Stanley tool box looks the best - do you know if you can take that on an airplane?
  4. Ooh - I'm all over those buttons. Pls PM me with info too!
  5. The tribal's over on the t-shirt contest thread. If someone wants nominate it here for consideration for a detachment logo, it would give us another choice to vote for.
  6. The renderings of the ARC kamas to me look more like kilts, but the ones the clone commanders use in EPIII seem more Japanese inspired.
  7. Actually, I'm having a kama made so I can convert my TC into an ARC when I want to. I really do see this progression from TC/ARC-CT-TK as a heritage.
  8. I think everyone on CTN is issued a copy of Karen Traviss' excellent EU novels based on the Republic Commandos: Hard Contact and Triple Zero. IMNSHO they're the best EU novels out there : Karen has lived and worked alongside law enforcement and the military and she portrays her characters as real people. I'd recommend them to all TK's as well. It's great backstory on how our spiritual forefathers came to be, and our warrior heritage as well.
  9. For starters, I think it's self-evident that discrimination of any kind on these boards - like other 501st boards - falls into the area of zero tolerance, e.g. posts will be removed, people will eventually be banned if need be. There should be no question about this. My executive decision is to leave the name as "Stormtrooper Detachment". If the next detachment command staff wants to hold a vote for a change so be it, but for now this is what it is. I think being a stormtrooper is a distinction in itself. I love clones and a good Vader as much as the next guy, but for me the single best costume in the 501st is a well done TK, with all the little screen accurate details like the ones you see cropping up under the (proposed) deployment standards. Regardless of the underlying reasons, TK's have been put down a lot lately and relegated to secondary status. Well, no more. This detachment is for celebrating the stormtrooper and ensuring it's place as a first class member of the Legion. We don't need no stinkin' moniker! Our heritage through our clone forefathers is Mandolorian, and our armor speaks for itself.
  10. I carry all my stuff in a single Rubbermaid tub I got from Fred Meyer. Walmart carries a similar size one that's got a little more interior room, but has no handle (e.g. not as easy to drag to events).
  11. Some pix so you can see what my armor looks like. This is the bottom of the cod & back plate, with a snap inserted directly into the armor (though you could also make a snap plate and glue that in), with a small strap connecting them. I know what you mean. Sometimes it's hard to remember when it was like when we first started and it was all new. Heck, I'm still learning things...
  12. Are you using snaps or something else? I've used snaps both before and after the cod mod, and it's never unsnapped, even after hours of marching. FWIW, I'm using the stretchy strap material instead of the cordura type strap.
  13. And here it is: ------------
  14. I guess that would depend if you're snapped int the back of velcro. My belt is leather (didn't know enough to use canvas, so it seemed a better choice than plastic at the time) and velcro'd in the back. There is enough give and it takes up some stress on the belt.
  15. 1. It didn't allow any mobility I didn't have before. 2. I'm always wondering if the bottom snap ever becomes undone, of me looking like an "excited" trooper. 3. It's just one more thing to flop around when the suits taken off.
  16. Not sure. As an alternative you can always get a canvas sleeve sewn and cover your plastic belt with it, which will at least give you that canvas look.
  17. The values for the custom 501st fields require info to be typed in accordance with the pattern in their description, e.g. for joined date it's "LLL NN", meaning three letters, a space, and two numbers. So "Jun 05" will work. "June 05" will not. Oh, and I've upgraded you to a "501st Member"...
  18. It seems to help for the majority of foilks, but in hindsight I wish I had not done mine. Fortunately if you do the cut is behind the belt, so even if the line isn't 100% straight you should be OK.
  19. Sorry Kathy - was reorganizing some forums. Pls let us know if you continue to experience any issues.
  20. He'd probably say "That quartermaster keeps changing my parts between movies too. Time for some lightsaber practice..." Great kit - btw
  21. Yup. I updated the application to be "Stormtrooper Detachment". Unless there is an overwhelming need to change it, I think it will work. Stormtrooper alone still sounds cool after all.
  22. Actually if you email it to me via [email protected], I can ensure it gets posted here.
  23. It could be that it's too big - there's a current cap of uploads at 500kb. How large is your file?
