The link is not working, but these two photos are making their way around the internet this morning:

Big Brown Boxes. Marshmallow Fluff. Fluffy Bunnies. Cute Puppies. Rainbows. Happy Little Trees. There you go... Back to our regularly scheduled tomfoolery!

You could sell the kids. Solves both problems.

I believe it is the same weapon/accessory. Looks to me as if the two forward pieces either flip out, or more than likely slide forward to that locked position.

My own strapping is a serious hybrid system. LoL I have original brackets holding most of it together. This is screen accurate, but very inconvenient for transporting the armor, truth be told. Where I do have snap plates, they are all double snapped and backed with Velcro. I've never had anything come apart after I got the snaps fully installed. While I was on Velcro in the arms and some other connections, I did have some Velcro failure as I neared eight months of trooping in the armor. Additionally, my cod is cut from the abdomen armor. It allows for a bit more mobility in some regards, but does not simply allow me to sit down. I can "sit", but it is not a result of that modification.

For me, as another of the people here who could be said to be one of those "people in authority" the key to this whole thing is "few selected members." Please, as Eric has said, and I have said, and so many others have said - here, in this thread - this TD should not be an issue for joining the Legion at all. The primary reason for the discussions up front about the higher levels of approval is not because we demand that everyone go for Centurion or nothing, rather much like a car salesman wants to show all of the options to a buyer, we want everyone who is considering building a TK to know what their options are before they start building (let me clarify that many of the improvements are far more easily built, than upgraded). It is up to the individual builder how far they will go with their build. Now, as "people in authority" go, I'm the one guy, out of all of them who probably SHOULD be up here saying "Go for EIB and Centurion!!!" That is after all, part of my responsibility as the FISD Ambassador. However, the bottom line is that we're all Star Wars fans. We are all fans of those beautifully shiny white armored Stormtroopers who burst into the hallways of the Tantive IV in 1977 without knowing those hallways led to our hearts. (CHEESE!!!) But at the end of the day, we're all here because of a love of Star Wars, and the desire to do good for other people through the sharing of that love. Yes, it is my responsibility to encourage every TK in the Legion to go for EIB (and Centurion), and I'd love to see everyone do it. Why? Because of the fans. I personally take it seriously because I feel an obligation to Star Wars, to LFL, to the fans, and to my fellow troopers, to provide those fans with the best possible representation of a Stormtrooper that I possibly can (albeit perhaps one that is taller than they remember seeing). I want them to see me and be amazed, and transported to that galaxy far, far away again. It isn't about being better than anyone else, it's about being the best that I can be, for them. So, in closing (this particular post at least) be excited about your impending big brown box day. Tell everyone about it, and how excited you are. Take pictures of it - heck, I took pictures of the FedEx truck when it pulled up in front of the house. If you want to see them, they're in my build thread which is linked in my signature below. This is an exciting time to be a Star Wars fan, and a more exciting time to be joining the FISD and the Legion. We're here to help. Nothing that you'll need to do to make this kit approvable for membership is akin to building nuclear devices out of common household items. With the help of the FISD, and (if available) your local members, there isn't anything that you cannot achieve when it comes to building these kits, and joining us in dressing like plastic spacemen and making people smile. If you need help, or have questions, don't hesitate to ask. Troopers Helping Troopers!

I'd love to say that there are three (Biker Scout, Kashyk Scout, and Snow Scout) but you'd get the best answer to that question over at www.bikerscout.net.

True, but nobody has said anything negative on like four or five posts now. I'd say that the DL's intent has been met.

Replacement ANOVOS helmets - anyone get theirs?

Ugh. The only reason I know it is coming is because of the FedEx Delivery Manager notification I received.

Nothing from ANOVOS. -
Replacement ANOVOS helmets - anyone get theirs?
Dark CMF replied to Daetrin's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
I submitted my ticket in late September. My replacement is being delivered tomorrow. Anything specifically that you're wondering about? -
I also emailed, also received the same response, and also ordered the XL based on the chart. Definitely more than what I'm used to spending but hey, if it is accurate, it is accurate, right?

TK 21814 Requesting ANH Stunt Centurion Status [AP][200]
Dark CMF replied to 68Brick's topic in Request Centurion Status
Great job all around, great work on those fixes in particular. Congratulations, welcome to the ranks, and congratulations on having an awesome wife. That cake is a beautiful touch! -
Shane is correct. EA Access on the XB1.

THIS GUY!!! Also, for the record, Battlefront is a dream come true. It's beautiful, and more fun than even YOU can imagine. I've got five or so hours into the game, and I haven't even played all of the game modes yet. There are a good number of them, and I haven't found a bad one yet. Exciting times, indeed.

Ewwwwwww. I talked to him on the phone the other day. I better get to the clinic and get checked out.

ANOVOS ANH Thermal Detonator Problem
Dark CMF replied to Astyanax's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I think that the TD is perfectly fine.

Yes, those clips will have to be moved for higher level approvals. No question about it.

The faceplate is fine. The whole armor is a sharper sculpt, and swapping faceplates to meet a non existent standard is not what I would encourage anyone to do. Doing so would look more odd, as the rest of the details on the armor are quite sharp also. This is a very simple set of modifications to make. A bit of putty. Some paint, a screwdriver. Mission accomplished.

The screws aren't even an issue unless you WANT to be more accurate. They aren't requirement. -
Yes... But not until next December when we have to adapt/provide the new CRL for that costume. This very thought has occurred to me as well.
-
At the end of the day, as we love to point out around here, we are dressing as plastic spacemen. To make children smile. To make people smile. To do some good in the world. If the TD clips aren't perfect, so what. They pass basic level approval. The belt, yes. Different issue. I'm personally working very, very hard, to reach out to as many of the CWFBSORNTACP preorder people as I can (via a FB gropu where many have gathered), to ensure that they are aware of the FISD and the help that we provide to TK builders on a daily basis. You'd best believe that they are very aware of this thread. Let's please try to keep it civil as others have mentioned, and keep our focus on ensuring that these prospective Legion members, and future TK builders get off on the right foot, with an awareness of our standards in the event that their interaction with us here inspires them to make the decision to join the 501st one day. I mean, I'm inclined to think that at least two or three of those likely thousands of kits are going to wind up in the hands of other nerds that think that this bunch of nerds here is pretty cool and want to eat some cookies with us.
-
Right??? LoL
-
Simply on point. Watch those EI numbers climb next year.
-
While I agree that the TD looks off due to the sharpness of it, I don't see any issue with it passing Legion certification. When all is said and done, any other TD worn on this kit is going to look goofy because of the sharpness of the kit. Just like putting an FX bucket on a set of AP would look goofy to us.

Approval... Easily achieved.

EIB/Centurion... They'll have to move or possibly even replace the clips (wrong position, and might be a little narrow).

Adoration of fans (young and old alike) when they troop, with us... Given.

November 2015 Newsletter - Sith Edition
Dark CMF replied to Holnave (evan_loh)'s topic in The Newsletter Archive
Okay... Troop with Daniel Fleetwood went quite well. He saw the movie prior to me making that post, so there were no Troopers to be run off. I've got two TKs who were there collaborating to give their take on it, and I've got our Garrison Event Coordinator (a Centurion TK himself) contributing some from his perspective as to how a fast reaction event, as big as this really is, happens so quickly, and is carried out and executed so smoothly. I've offered our GCO the opportunity to collaborate with him if she desires to do so, but I haven't heard from her as to whether she will be doing so. All of them are targeting the end of the week to have their parts done. Once I've received them, I'm going to do a small intro/outro bit to tie it all together and we'll have it ready to go. Additionally, many members of the Garrison donned the armor to get some video or photos shot of them welcoming Daniel to the Garrison, and posted them on his wife's FB page. Additionally, I owe you a write up for Germain's FISD Achievement Award, and that will also be done this week. -
