  1. I understand what your saying but if ANOVOS sets themselves up as the single source for armor then we are locked into paying premium prices for incomplete unfinished kits, similar to the ones we buy now at a third the price. And for a person such as myself who doesn't have that kind of coin and isnt currently a member then membership becomes an unattainable dream. we are a charity organization, we dont make money for what we do, ANOVOS clearly is a for profit company and is setting themselves up to be our exclusive provider. I feel like ANOVOS views us as nothing more than a cash cow they are eager to milk.
  2. Is anyone considering making the armor or are we locked into ANOVOS? Personally, I haven't got $1800+ to drop on a suit. But would love the chance to make my own.
  3. Looks like the power cylinders have been removed.
  4. So when will armor be ready for purchase? I want to be ready to troop the movie premier.
  5. I have the same parts kit and am planning to do a similar build. I am really enjoying seeing someone else do this and love the great ideas you have, so keep up the fantasic work! I noticed in your first post that your parts didn't have the excess steel tubing on the trigger and handle or the magazine port like mine do, how did you remove the excess steel? I am not a welder and have only a little experience using a stick welder, I was wondering what kind of welder you used to weld the main tube back together. I plan to practice on some scrap steel before attempting this but would like to get your recommendations. Why did you choose to blast the parts with aluminum oxide verus sand or glass beads?
  6. I am 6' tall 250 pounds and my FX suit is very tight. I bought it off Ebay, (first mistake), and have been modifying it ever since. I have been looking at the chest plate and come to the conclusion that it is way too small as I have fairly broad shoulders. After looking around I am considering building a vacuform table and remanufacturing parts that actually fit and fit comfortably. May not be an option for you but its what I am considering. Buying several suits to cannablize a franken-suit seems like an expensive way to go.
  7. This is a great story and the whole reason I am working on armor to join the 501st. I wish I had known about this project last year I definately would have donated!
