  1. Nice! Feel free to follow my thread and give input, i'll be painting today.
  2. Ah, ok. I had to modify the link to find your album. From what I can tell the tube stripes will need to be redone and the ears look a bit off. I can't speak for the accuracy though, you'll need someone more experienced for that. What are you paying/trading for this?
  3. Can you get some more angles? I know there are some mods you need to make but in the end it will still certainly be better than an FX.
  4. Sorry about the necro, but dear LORD that armor is fantastic!
  5. Here they are all taped up, that was the most tedious thing i've ever done in my life. Edit: Thunderstorm is rolling in - not going to get any painting done tonight
  6. Finally I can get started on this, my Fiebing's Deglazer just arrived in the mail today, went to Wally World, got some rags, and went to town. Used all of it both to be thorough and because i'll never use it again. Letting them sun dry for a bit now, i'll wash them when they get back in and possibly start painting tonight. We'll see how it goes.
  7. For premade you can go to either: ---------
  8. If you would be interested in painting boots, i'm using http://www.zappos.com/deer-stags-nolita and will be painting them white with http://www.amazon.com/Angelus-Acrylic-Paints-4oz-White/dp/B00HQ53QA8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1399859555&sr=8-2&keywords=angelus+white+leather+paint and http://www.amazon.com/Tulip-Dimensional-Fabric-Paint-Slick/dp/B00114M278/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399256626&sr=8-1&keywords=white+fabric+paint (be sure to deglaze with fiebings deglazer before painting though)' As for the undersuit, I got this 2 piece setup flat black for just $33. Very good deal, but the top runs a bit small so get a size larger. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/bcg-8482-men-39-s-long-sleeve-compression-t-shirt/pid-47886?color=Caviar&N=628476043&Ntt=bcg+compression&Ntk=All http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/bcg-153-men-39-s-compression-tight/pid-1038871?color=Black&N=628476046&Ntt=bcg+compression&Ntk=All
  9. So to clarify on the fabric dye, are you applying it straight from the container or putting it on some kind of brush and applying?
  10. I knew I couldn't trust that frog, that's why I avoided him and his overpriced tape and just got some generic painters tape for like 50 cents.
  11. The shirt looks a little redundant, maybe put an imperial cog or 501st emblem or TKID on the front instead.
  12. You should also check out MEPD.net, that is the sand trooper detachment site.
  13. You are such an inspiration to us all. My deglazer has been taking FOREVER to arrive but i'm still hoping to get it by the end of the week. Its coming from Florida, but i've gotten packages from California faster than this. It took 3 days just for them to deliver it to USPS! Anyway, good luck with the elastic and removing your tape, i will be following this thread to the bitter end.
  14. RT-Mod should be a good helmet, I hear the armor is for larger people so they helmet may be a little bigger too.
  15. Was it this http://www.amazon.com/Tulip-Dimensional-Fabric-Paint-Slick/dp/B00114M278/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399256626&sr=8-1&keywords=white+fabric+paint or http://www.amazon.com/Tulip-Fabric-Paint-Matte-Glacier/dp/B00EFIRN44/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1399256626&sr=8-2&keywords=white+fabric+paint ?
  16. The animated version (as much as I dislike it), does look considerably better in real life. Grand Zillo did an excellent job with that.
  17. You should have used half of the deglazer and sent the rest to me! I'm super broke right now and I will take spares!
  18. the "fancy suit" part at the end kills me
  19. Update: The tops of these shoes aren't high enough to stay under the shins. I would recommend following the same process but with a more accurate pair. Got these in the mail today, they are slippery as all get out from the plain flat soles on them. You can hear them slide across the carpet when you use them. Otherwise they look nice. Here are some pre-painting shots:
  20. In the end this route is ultimately cheaper, I got free shipping on the boots so that saves me roughly $20 compared to TKboots. The price was about 56, compared to 69 for TKBoots, and I will get them tomorrow, as opposed to 10 weeks from now. Of course if I decide to I can always get TKBoots or similar down the road but these made the most sense to me imo.
