    Armor done

    Awesome Pat , congratulations
  2. Oh yeah, I see what you mean about having to replace the neck trim
  3. And I do agree, I just meant that having a blaster for elite status but never trooping with it, IMO, is not a good use of time, money, whatever. some people say this about trying for elite status, take my garrison for example, there has to be about an 80% - 90% ratio of FX armor and helmets in the ranks <_< If I buy a screen accurate blaster, I am going to troop with it!!! Others may not, and that is OK. I troop with my authentic blaster all the time
  4. wow, that sounds like a tight fit but you make a good point
  5. What kind of build is your helmet?
  6. I was trying to address Scott's comment about trooping with an accurate weapon such as a de-milled Sterling, I was just trying to point out that you don't have to troop with the accurate weapon, this is about the "elite" status, mainly the ANH and if you don't want to go the extra mile and get a more accurate weapon, then don't that’s all I really wanted to point out...just because the elite standards are high doesn't mean that they are not able to be achieved
  7. I think we should get rid of it for elite status all the way, but what about those who have already attained thier elite status with an FX bucket? what will become of them?
  8. Thanks guys, I know it can get annoying me posting every day, but it is really coming close, i'm just waiting for the rest of the door trim to finish my lower back plate
  9. Well Scot, it has everything to do with my argument...that would mean that the elite status would then be placed at a higher bar than the 501st standards...these standards are there for those of us who want to achieve them, not for those who want to troop in screen accurate armor remember this pleas......remember that this is about attaining the elite status, not trooping, and not being apart of the 501st...being apart of the 501st is an option for members here such is the elite status, just because you are an elite trooper doesn't mean that you are in or want to be in the 501st <_<
  10. I was saying that it doesn't fix the blaster just helps to mask one of its many flaws
  11. Most people here buy under armor type garments, or the body suit scuba thing...but the under armor by popular opinion is the most easy to get and nicest to wear because it is easy to replace and the two piece option is felt to be the better one and it is easy to replace if torn
  12. wow, I got to sit back and see where this one goe's This can be a very touchy subject, as it was the last few times we had it...I am all for getting rid of the FX Bucket, unless you have a size 8 head
  13. You can use black car door trim, thats what I used on my AP and it works great...It is the same stuff that they used to trim the ROTJ Armor but its just black instead of white
  14. Yes! I have turned another one muahahaha
  15. Please remember that this discussion is not about trooping with the more accurate blaster, its having one when submitting your photo's for elite status
  16. It doesn't really fix the toy blaster, it just trys to mask it
  17. Ok, some more progress pics of the armor... My chest plate ready to go... My upper back plate ready to go... My ab plate, the buttons still need to be put on, but they are painted correctly Its starting to really come together
  18. Yes, that is true, what if it becomes too easy to become at least ANH elite? why not set a higher bar? Paul, you said that My ROTJ is comparable to the Bikerscout.net's Lancer status, why shouldn't the same be said for the ANH Elite? I have to use an authentic looking weapon for my ROTJ elite status, why can't ANH have those same requirements...because the Hasbro blaster would NEVER work for the ESB or the ROTJ Elite because of Hasbro's pathetic interpretation of a Hengsler counter on it ...these are just some of the items that really make me wonder bout the ANH elite status bar and where it is set
  19. I glued my forearms, and bideps tigether, my calfs are the only thing that has velcro on it in the back... But there are those of us who don't have thin arms like the OG troopers...so, i would sy just do what works for you in the end
  20. It can be a two edged sword though, sometimes ignorance is bliss , but I wouldn’t have it any other way
  21. I think that people get the Kenner because it is convenient to get something that "sort of" resembles the original blaster rather than take the time to make there own or put out $ for a more accurate replica, I am glad that you broke down the the options for these members Justin
  22. Great job Chef, keep up the awesome work!
  23. Here are some more progress pics... My knee plate preped for triming... My knee plate instaled... I'm still waiting for my trim
  24. Ok, now that my armor is coming together, the next thing I want to do is convert my shoulder straps from ANH to ROTJ... ANH cut shoulder straps... I trimed the outer edges in this shot... and lastly I cut off the flats at either end,and there you go, Authentic ROTJ shoulder strapping ...
  25. The cushman E-11 doesn't look bad, at least it is proportioned a little better than the toy, I think that the Cushman E-11 should be the minimum required for elite status, but thats just me all you would need is a bigger mag and a counter for ANH, they shouldn't cost as much as a whole hasbro mod kit
