  1. i sweat, therefore I am. Don't get into any character per say. I just do what the client and patrons want of me. For me, Just standing next to the trooper(s) beside me, i.e. a charity event, there's espirit de corps there. That's enough for me.
  2. good info. thank you.
  3. maybe reinforce the break on the shin's underside with ABS paste?
  4. Contribution sent. Transaction ID: 3UE78138FJ033072H
  5. Great idea. I was a GML many years ago and asked Detachments for advice a lot. If a prospective member submitted an app and noted it was "FISD approved", I wouldn't hesitate to approve him on the spot. It would have saved me a whole lotta time.
  6. As a #2 in this SW trilogy, I walked out of the theatre (2x) a bit more satisfied compared to my experience in TFA. I rewatched TFA a few days ago, and I have an improved appreciation for it. My 11-year old daughter loves the new SW, so why fight it?
  7. that looks stunning!
  8. If you can demonstrate to the detachment officers and/or GML with photo sources ("rule of 3" I guess applies) of a variation of the stripes, you should be good to go. CRL would be appropriately amended by the detachment I would think.
  9. took me eight years myself to start a TK after my first post in this forum. No rush.. WElcome and have fun!
  10. Yes, with elastic straps, attach bicep underside to the bells' underside shoulder area. The straps should not show at all. What I'm doing is gluing male snaps/fasterners to the underside of the handshell and use female-side of snaps attached to elastic straps to wrap around the hand. proportionally speaking, your TK looks darn good!
  11. I'm not an expert with importation of prop weapons. But, if your vendor of choice can ship the props unassembled, .e.g. sometimes, depending on design, the BFG can come in 2 or 3 separate parts, it may be less wait time. Same for the smaller prop guns; some parts unattached. From my own experience, I had very little issues getting a DC-15X (came in two parts) and a DC-15s blaster (completely assembled) into the US from Denmark, like zero wait time in customs.
  12. welcome! as you read, you'll quickly discover there's different types of armor from the movies and other references. Decide which stormy you wish to emulate. that will begin to narrow down your vendor(s) of choice. Read the CRL of your selected costume, and pay attention to any variations and the different levels of costuming certifications, that can affect your time and budget in developing your costume. have fun!
  13. might encounter service issues there as well. Anovos customer service is mediocre to poor. I ordered from Anovos back in mid-Aug. I changed my mind and cancelled the pre-order around Aug. 29 and requested a full refund. They claim it takes 12-15 business days to fully process. It's now 18 business days and still no refund in my account. At the very least, the customer rep. I'm in contact with is trying, but still no excuse. never again. yep.
  14. requesting access to 501st only area of this detachment. Alan Ibarra #6306 http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=7464
